Basically my institution follows the rules mentioned in the statutes referred to. Additional the institution to be accredited by other state and federal agencies follow certain rules and regulation. At the moment all I read and learned about consumer practices and penalties always have to check to not fail as a good institution.

I am using my handbook, the internet and print outs from the links in the assignments in order to study the various Florida Statues and Rules and Regulations. There is a lot of information regarding the Florida Statues. Do you have any recommendations to help me retain them better, if so, I am open to any suggestions.
Thanks,
Jacki

A great way to learn. By referencing real life examples, you are reinforcing your knowledge.

Margaret,

Excellent! Having both formats provides you easy access.

OSIEL,

I would suggest that you take the rules and have the school documents for review at the same time. For example, when reviewing standard 11, you would have the catalog and dvertising to review at the same time.

I have asked my admissions colleague to go into further detail and provide examples regarding some of the rules and regulations. I have also practiced filling out a copy of the school's enrollment agreement.

I read the pages online as well as print them for further review.

I have printed copies of the Florida Rules and Regulation, then reading deeply to it and imagening each case cenario, help me learn and retaine information.

I have printed out the statutes, rules and regulations and inserted them into my Resource Notebook. I also have gotten to know my program specialist who has been extremely helpful with any questions I am learning and understanding how important the admission processing for giving students the proper information and making sure all rules are followed.

Tzipora,
Yes it does. The Commission members review every detail before issuing a ruling on licensure.

Justin,
Manageable moments is the key. My suggestion is to review the rules with the documents while you are learning. For example, read standard 11 of the rules while reviewing your catalog and advertisements.

Reading the relevant Florida Statutes, utilizing the various FAPSC training courses for as many staff memebrs as it would be helpful for, and constant contact with our Program Specialist. Having to submit our paperwork to the Commission once a year for license renewal help ensure that we remain compliant at all times.

It is important to know all of the resources that are available. The Statutes, Rules and Regulations can be overwhelming when viewed as a whole. I have found that if I utilize the tools available through the following entities, it has been a much easier process to understand.

1. www.fldoe.org (There are two PDFs. CH 1005 Florida Statutes, and CH 6E Florida Administrative Code. These are extremely detailed and will give the reader a complete resource

2. Utilizing our Program Specialist when unsure. They will give us the definitive direction if we are confused.

3. Our organization also needs to stay on top of updates and changes that are disseminated via email.
