The university website and bulletin board are constantly being updated with up-to-date information, so I like to check these resources every day at my school.
Betty, I agree that communication is very important!
Patrick,
It sounds like you have a very solid plan in place to make sure you stay informed and knowledgeable.
I plan on attending all of the training required by the institution; as well as seeking out any additional information that I come accros. I just learned that I can go on the "Boards" website to learn about new things as well.
We have weekly meetings here that I take notes in while attending. There are resources online and printed material that is circulated. I plan on checking the resources available to me weekly and updating my resource notebook. I also check our updated online course catalog to make sure that the material I am using for reference is the most up to date. I will also be speaking with our career placement once a month to stay up to date with their department’s offerings.
The Chancellor at my school keeps us very well informed. We get weekly newsletters and daily emails about changes in anything as far as the institution goes. I am able to stay on top of information.
I have to say that my campus is pretty good about informing us of changes immediately.
Personally, I will cross-reference materials so that I can make sure I have the appropriate information in my notebook/files, and do a monthly check so that I am not hoarding any dated materials.
My plan is to always attend meetings, read e-mails and memo's and ask questions! I always feel uncomfortable when I feel uninformed and the best way to ensure I am informed and up-to-date is to be proactive and a participant in every situation.
As stated in the module, I would need to communicate with the other departments of the school, such as the Faculty, career centers, and student services. They will be able to educate me on somethings that I may need to know and communicate to a prospective student.
It's a good idea to have one place to store these updates. We will check website weekly to ensure the most up to date info is placed in our binders.
I plan on setting a reminder on my calendar to check the website weekly to make sure the I have current information in my binder.
I am going to develop a organized system to keep track of changes made. I have already started a binder for this purposes.
I want to include all new advertising that is available so I have it. I don't believe I have any missing information, but if I find that I have any, I will resolve it by making sure I locate it!!
I plan on updating my knowledge of articulation agreements and I plan on regular updating on placement and graduation stats. I will also spend more time communicating with staff at the school to provide better information to the students and better informed students to the instructors.
I tend to alwyas check the Ohio Board for new changes. We also have weekly meetings on any new updates.
We have university wide meetings about once a month and this is a time that its an open forum to find out any changes or anything we have missed regulatory and academically
Great suggestions here! Check the Ohio site, Communicate regularly with the other departments, meet/share/discuss, stay updated, continuous training.
I keep up to date with changes by checking the Ohio Board website as well. Also we have weekly staff meetings where we go over any changes, so that the whole staff is on the same page and there is no mis communication.
The OACCS web site, current company info.
My plans are to go to any web site to try to keep things up dated and or missing. Not just only this area but other areas that pertain to recruItment and admission rep. Most likely start with the Ohio board web site first. Then find other sites for up dates or missing parts.
