I expected a large amount of requirements. I am glad there are so many. It is important that agents are knowlwdgeable of rules and regulations.
I have worked in Higher Education for over 15 years, but have recently been more active in the proprietary sector. This course helped refresh my current knowledge as well as introduced some topics specific to the career college. I'm glad I've had the opportunity to complete the course!
I did not realize there were so many rules and regulations in association with my new profession when I started this course. It is nice to learn about the ways in which students are protected in general. I love to learn so it was great to give my brain some exercise. In addition to my new found information on rules/regulations, I learned just how vital it is to know this information and keep it up to date. I learned so much and I'm a little sad that my learning is nearly complete...for now. :)
This training was very informative and put things into perspective for me. As a new admissions representative, I realize now how important it is to stay up to date with rules and regulations and how they could impact my job and my school.
All of the requirements are so that we can best serve our students!
This course gave me great insight and depth on what all the requirements of what an agent needs to do to be compliant and up most ethical with my deliverance to my job. Before I started the course I was aware of all of these things, but everything is more clear now.
It is critical that we as agents are governed by a set of rules that will allow the student to be successful. We need to have the checks and balances to ensure that our profession remains ethical, legal and moral for the betterment of the student and the institution.
I think that the agents role is very important and they need to stay current on laws, rules, and regulations.
Yes, reviewing information every so often is great so you know you're not giving an applicant wrong information. Something that may have been a few months ago, may not apply now. Very important.
Bottom-line...an Agent's success rests on their relationship with the potential student. If all questions / information are covered according to ethical guidelines during initial pre-enrollment conversations there should be little to follow up on...
I plan to meet with various staff at our campus to confirm how we perform the different tasks. I will include admissions, financial aid, and registrar.
I feel one of the most important aspects of our job is to know exactly what we can..and can not directly say to the students, as to not give false information. I feel the best thing to do if in a situation where you are not sure how much information you can give, is to take the student directly to the person on your campus who can answer their questions.
I think there should be requirements for Admission Advisors-it helps them stay in compliance and do what's in the best interest of the student at all times
I have not really learned anything that I did not already know. However, it is nice to be reminded of the things that are important as an agent/admissions representative at a college. I think the most important thing is to stay up to date on policies and procedures on a regular basis and ethics compliance is always crucial and cannot be stressed enough.
To promote the school in right and legal way. To always be willing to give the correct information, encouraging students, making sure you understand rules and regulations
Being a successful agent is not only about being an effective salesperson. The agent also needs to be knowledgeable and aware of everything needed to be compliant.
Agents are responsible for more things than I was even aware of. I got some great tips on how to better inform myself and how to better prepare our school for employment and student enrollments. This training as opened my eyes to all the things our school is lacking and where we can go from here. I understand now why the State Board would require agent permits before they work in the field because it better prepares them for the market.
I have learned there is no such thing as to much information to better your position and educate potential students. A lot of these things don't apply to my school but is very interesting to know about.
Since I am still in my new hire training this was all new to me. I feel like I learned a lot about what is going to be required of me during my job.
My school gave us a wealth of this information just in their onboarding process with us new representatives. It is good to see there is ongoing education and resources for our industry to help us remain compliant with all rules and regulations in real time. However, there are bits of information that are explained in greater detail so that was refreshing to learn a deeper insight as to why my school functions the way it does.
