There were no real surprises for me, I think my school adequately prepared me for what to expect.
The requirements for Agents may have some changes here and there, but our foundations do not. We are still working for the students and our institutions. We have the great opportunity to work with some great organizations, faculty, and staff, and meet some amazing students. Having a clear understanding of our requirements keeps Agents accountable to ensure we have the best outcomes for everyone involved.
I would have to say that I am encouraged by the amount of information that is provided and the care that is taken to proctect both the student that the school. As a long time student before it is nice to realize that many of the hurddles that I was jumping over during addmission processes were there to protect and inform me and with out thouse saftey nets I could have been taken advantage of on a couple of occasions.
I think that to be taken seriously and to be credible we have to be held to high standards. It's nice to have all our requirements written out and detailed for us. I am more confident in my school also because I have already seen some of these requirements "in action".
This course helped lay out all the rules and regulations that and agent must follow. I learned a lot about how to be a successful agent while making sure I stay in line with all the regulations.
To me, the agent is very important and should be knowledgeable about everything the school has to offer. That fits me as a person because I like to know a lot about everything, so I can add that to my life resume.
I am new to the position of admissions officer at my school and I am slightly overwhelmed by the amount of information and all the regulations. However, I am not surprised and it all makes me more excited about my job and the responsibilities it entails.
Thse course made a lot of sense to me. It was very helpful. A lot goes into maintaining compliance. It was really eye-opening.
It is very helpful to know your insitutions PLA (Assessment for Prior Learning Experience) policy.
I have changed the way I see the Agent's requirements as a result of taking this course. There is so much more to being an on online admissions representative than just knowing the course start dates and the tuition costs! But most of all, I think the important element to remember is that rather than seeing the admissions process through a perspective/lens/paradigm of sales, it is more valuable to the student, the institution, and in the spirit of full transparency to thoroughly qualify the prospective student and let them know all of their options and resources that they will have available to them during their educational journey. Only then will it be possible to say that a good and useful conversation has taken place between a student and an online admissions representative.
Upon almost completing the course, I am surprised at the amount of knowledge that a college admissions rep must have prior to talking to students. However, I agree that an admissions rep should be well-versed in general knowledge of the the school that they are recruiting for. I believe an informed admissions rep can help students find the right educational environment. At the school I work for, all employees must be have a strong understanding of the school's programs and policies.
This is true, auto-pilot can be a dangerous thing. Students often recognize when educators-presenters are not "present" and just going through the motions. If the instructor is not motivated, makes it much more difficult for students to remain engaged.
The agent training provided me deeper knowledge and insight on the regulations and requirements for agents in the State of OH. The requirements hold agents to a reasonable ethical standard which I believe will improve the quality of the school and education that students receive.
I feel better prepare to do my job with more understand of the regulations.
I have better understand of the importance of my position and the effect it may have on our students.
It is good to know that the state has requirements for the agents/recruiters to adhere and know about certain regulations.
Very detailed and repetitive. Full disclosure and doing things right all the time is essential.
Steven,
Other staff members are welcome to take this training if the school wishes.

Its important to know what you can and not say within your role as an agent. In the end, its your responsibility to provide accurate information and and be accountable for your mistakes. Its imperative to take this training if you are working as an agents. Additionally, I feel this training can be beneficial to other employees and departments outside of agents/admissions.
Being pretty new to admissions makes it all a little scary, but at the same time exciting. I love to learn as much as I can that will make our school thrive. I understand a little better now how important it is to stay updated and current on all policies and standards. Keeping the resource notebook close at hand will help me begin this process.
