ED110

ED110 was an interesting course. It does help to prioritze your stressors and decide which ones you can elminate or reduce. Stress is always going to be in our lives we just need to figure out what works best for us to reduce it.

Good overview of the skills necessary to be an effective online instructor. Although I have been at it for 13+ years, there is always more to learn.

Thank you.

ED106 Developing Your Communication Skills/Organizing Student Learning Groups

I certainly agree with that you have to be selective with your information and how you present it to the class.  If you don't present it correctly, they will not be attentive and will not be engaged in any way.  You need to make it interesting for them and also make it fun to keep them engaged and willing to learn more.  You need to present it in many different ways to kkeep them occupied and wanting to ask questions and to learn more.  You need to adjust for each class because no one class will be the same.  All… >>>

ED104 Preparing Yourself for the Class

I really enjoyed this class and learned a lot from it.  It gives you a lot of different ideas that you can you use on a day to day basis but also change off and do it at different times depending upon the situation.

I think that you have to be prepared for the the class more than you think because you never know what to expect.  Always have your ducks in a row, that way you will be on your toes and your students will see that.  They will also see what it takes and will learn from it.

Gen Y

Most of my students fall in the Gen Y category. This course is a great tool for understanding and designing future course materials and outlines. Intuitively I understand the students backgrounds and experiences, but I found that placing their generation in context with the rest of the world helpful in understanding strengths and weaknesses.

I look forward to applying the things I learned from this course and am intereested in how this can change the current classroom climate and engagement.

And, as drivers, we need to realize that at times we are manipulating automatics while at other those with manual driving capabilities. I have come to appreciate SME, the process of course evaluation, intricacies of success functions, strategies to elicit positive responses, the necessity of consistency, and the experience of the student in the class having effect into the world of work.

ED107 What a great Experience

I really enjoyed this course. I learned so much and I enjoyed the quizzes and Forums. Thank you for the learning experience.

difficulty with students with learning disabilities

In the medical field, students with learning disabilities should be properly screened. There are different levels. If the student has a severe case of it, it will totally hinder the learning process despite massive tutoring and motivation.

Classroom strategies

I enjoyed this course because this was applicable in our institutuion. We have a diversed student population. Fortunately I have been practicing most of the methods that makes my classroom teaching more effective.

As I stated in 'my comments' at the end of the survey:

I have read several books on learning styles so it did not take me long to comprehend this module.  Still.... it's been awhile and I really enjoyed reviewing and covering these concepts again.  Plus, I  learned a few new things to consider in test writing.  I really liked this module and would highly recommend it to any instructor.

i learned some new activities i can try in the classroom. i believe much of our job relies on motivating the students and keeping them interested in the material. I don't think any 1 instructor is above learning something new. I think we can always update, and reinvent the way we approach our classroom and our students.

ED 116 Crit.Thinking

I often say that my freshman logic class was the best of 6 years of post-secondary education.  ED 116 didn't contain as much "good stuff", but it was very good at re-kindling the memories of learning to think and analyze clearly.  good introduction.

Continuous Process Improvement

Education is evolutionary rather than revolutionary. This reaffirmed what we are doing well and offered great tips to further discover what we could do better to best serve our students. Lynne

Leading a balanced life

The information I have acquired from the on line classes are so relevant to many aspects of my life.  There is such a link between stress and work performance.  By recognizing stressors and taking them head on, it brings a new light to all that we have to juggle in our lives.  I want to be more productive and effective in both my professional life as well as personal life.  I feel rejuvenated and confident that I will reach my goal.
