ePortfolios in the classroom

I have had great luck with students using the Weebly website to build their free electronic portfolio it has been helpful for them to reflect during coursework and then many students have then turned it into a professional resume/portfolio website.  It has been a big asset to the interview process.

the pitfalls of over-reliance on technology and organization hierarchy in education

the rate of technological development is exceeding fast na' days.   but high tech gimmicks can be a crutch for educators, and reduce classroom human to human interaction.   plus all the stuff in those machines is mined by impoverished slaves and assembled in factory sweat shops like the Foxconn facility in China.

stay human!

ED117

The best course I have seen describing all the different categoroies of learners, from the Veterans to the Baby boomer, to the Gen X to Gen Y.

Great use of Social Media

Using social media is great for education. It provides a method to use social media for learning rather than entertainment. What do you think?

ED115

This was a great tutorial. I have been integrating active learning into my classes for the last few years.

It gave me some new ideas and affirmed that I was successful in my attempts to use this style of teaching.

Lecture is boring for the instructor as well as for the students.

ED 115

Great class, really gave me a lot to think about.

ED112

I just completed ED112 and found this course to be very informative and will be useful in the classroom.

I feel an instructor must be motivated in order to keep her students motivated.

Try, try again

A webinar said, "A strategy for avoiding repeating some of the above mistakes is to make notes about how a lecture, demonstration, or activity worked for you.” I think it would be helpful for new instructors to note that a lecture that bombs in one class might get a standing ovation in another. Try it out on a few classes before tossing it away.

Find out what he learned from three months on the road visiting 21 states, 64 schools, and the great ideas of 500 educators. Presented by Grant Lichtman, Author and Educational Consultant.

Becoming at ease for the first meeting of a classroom

The content in this course was helpful in making me awarw of small things that will help the students settle into the first day as well as myself.  We will all have one thing in common on that particular day; we will all be new at this.

Learning Strategies

It is important that student have differetn learning stategies in order to be successful. Adult learners need to have automony in order to feel successful. decoding is also inmportant for student to learn to do, they can put things in bits and pieces for better learning objectives. We as insturctors must never sto learning and ting to be better at what we are.

Very informative, helps with planning of courses, it is important to keep up with current technology in order to keep the student interested and with current information for their learning experience.

ED104

Very intresting and informative. It was a good refresher course to take.

EL 109

Hello

I just finished a really great course on Rubrics (EL 109.) This course is a must for all online teachers because from time to time we will probably find ourselves in a situation where we as facilitators needs to either write or refine excising rubrics within our courses or departments. EL 109 will certainly add that extra enhancement and clarify any misconceptions to create a dynamic rubric for the online environment. The course will even provide external websites where you may like to draw information and ideas from to create that rubric just right for you setting.

EDU 117
