my stress

Good course, I need to better manage my stress.

EL 103

I enjoyed this course.  I have learned several new strategies with which to enhance my online instructing.  I am particularly excited to be able to see some changes implimented in my current syllabus.  I am excited to re-format and make it more interactive.  Great course!

ED 111 Active Learning

I liked this course however, y classes are active already. I just needed some ideas on turning the lecture portion into something more fun and rememberable.

Lesson planning is very important so we have a guide as to what we are teaching our students.

Excitement about learning is contagious

My students tend to appear excited and interested in my lectures when I get excited, move around the classroom, and ask them to research on the internet something pertaining to fashion. Most everyone loves clothing because it allows each person to be expressive.

Rapport with students

i'm always trying to better understand ways to include all students from different levels of learning. to my way of thinking, fifty percent of teaching is dealing correctly with all the different personalities and backround of students.

Continuous Improvement

i was particularly interested in having students question their assumptions and learn something about themselves they may not before have realized. SELF MOTIVATION.

Course Revisions

It is important to use multiple sources when evaluating a course and determining the need for a revision.  An instructor can use student evaluations, peer reviews, reviewing course grade, scanning the syllabus, and performing pretest/posttest to determine the knowledge acquired.

Feedback

Hello.  It's important for an online instructor to provide substantive, written feedback on the students' assignments.  The students show review the feedback and make any corrections in the next homework assignment.  It's important for the students to understand the time value of money in finance courses.

Fair proportion of contact hours vs. prep time

Since it is so important for students to receive prompt feedback (recommended that exams be graded and returned by the next class ), then what would you suggest is a fair proportion for contact hours (classroom) and non-contact (prep time)? I find it diffiuclt to have all assignments graded within 24hrs when teaching a full caseload without taking them home and using my personal and family time to do this. This is becoming a hotbed issue since I put so much of myself into my work (on and off the clock) and my family time is sacrificed so I can… >>>

Retention of students is a focus i have.  it has been a challenging with the diversity of age, culture and educational background the courses I have been teaching have.  I have worked hard to engage my expertise, passion and enthusiasm into my lesson plans but still have found challenges to retaining some students.  I appreciated the ideas of discovering the why the student is in the class and then utilizing the strategies to keep them engaged.  Praise and positive feedback is so important and I believe I can do even more of this.  I also need to ask more about… >>>

New Study Gauges Teachers Impact on Students' Lifetime Earnings

Putting a price on the value of good teachers.  The debate over testing in schools and whether student scores accurately reflect the teachers' performance has been raging for well over a decade.  Now a new study has tracked more than 2.5 million students over two decades.  What did the study find?

Lesson Planning

This course helped me understand the importnace of Lesson Planning and gave me valuable information to implement into the classroom.

ED115

The soft skill course helped me to identify areas in which I can improve upon in my teaching and relating to my students.  As well as being better equipped to teach them better sof skills as well.

Great course!
