I learned that as an online instructor there are different ways to interact with students, and to make sure they are undersatnding the information in which I am delivering. Understanding the CMS and proper scaffolded structure of content to goals will help ensure student can progress properly. And these elements all lead to an encouraged engaged student.

I learned that what we are exeriencing now due to the closure of schools is exactly what we should be experiencing. But, we are learning it while doing it rather than being trained for it first. Also, I would like to add that while it is true that students feel safe and secure, that can be counter productive because they lose track of the responsobilities of the course. Distance learning, as one of my students stated requires a higher degree of self-discipline.

I am new to teaching online.  I have taken online courses in the past, but I have never taught them.  I see the importance of the teacher begin prepared before beginning the process as to the comfort level of students.  I also see the importance of technical support for students.  I realize that teachers have many things that they need to be able to do before beginning the online class.

In order to be a successful online CAD instructor, I must familiar with the CMS my instruction uses, but I also have to discover an efficient way to bridge the gap between a typical classroom environment when students can ask questions and an online and mostly asynchronous delivery model where the same questions cannot be asked and answered the same way. the stakes are even higher because students must not only comprehend the material, but must familiarize themselves with the tool they must use IN CAD SOFTWARE to solve problems.

Having a place for everything and having the online teaching as organized as possible. Creating assignments that you need to complete in order to move onto the next or discussions might be helpful to have more understanding for the students.

I plan to use the material during this Covid Shut Down

There should be a definite structure based off modules to e-learners. Modules should be easy to navigate and monitored by instructor

Making sure I feel comfortable with the CMS will be the key to my being able to help students become confident and use it effectively.

There needs to be a check list created for the CMS to make sure it is successfull for both teacher and student.

Make sure your platform is easy to nvigate and be there for your students with timely turn around for questions. make your pressense known so that students know they have someone there if needed and are being held accountable

It is very important to make sure students feel supported and connected in an online environment. Therefore I will make sure to respond as soon as possible to questions and concerns. Additionally, make sure I am communicating effectively so that students understand assignments, deadlines, meetings, and other requirements.

This lesson has confirmed my role as an online educator will depend upon my ability to deliver and be effective to my students needs. It also explains how important the impact os the teachers roll is to a student. The course should be designed in line with needs os the students assignments, understanding and ability to contact techinical support when and if needed.

I learned that on-line instruction is characterized by structural integrity, navigational simplicity, intellectual interaction, the active learner with centered learning.

That CMS is a Course Management System.

Learners need to feel supported.

The delivery needed to include course content.

That each instructor is likely to deliver the material differently.

I learned that that there 4 key elements of an online course - structure integration, navigational simplicity, intectual intergratio nand activie learner center learning.

I am glad I am going through this before we select an online learning tool. This brought up a lot of good points on looking at availability of the material to the students, timing of lessons and assessments and many other things.

I learned the importance of being familar with the learning platform so that you can be supportive and assist the learners in both academic and technical formats.  You should have an easy to navigate platform and structure such as the use of modules and lessons.  As an instructor you should be clear about the course expectations such as how students will navigate the course and communicate those expectations clearly.

In an E-learning environment, it's important for a teacher to know and understand the platform in order to be effective.

It is important to know the platform in which content will be delivered. When you know the content then you have the tools to work with. Students also feel more confident in their learning when they know someone is out there to help them with not only content, but the platform. Students are more likely to be successful when they view that someone is there with them. I will work to encourage my students and let them know I am here to help them be successful.

Instruction on how to teach oniline learning for different learning levels. I am a new CTE teacher with little computer skills so I'm hoping this will give me the understanding I need to teach online

The most common structure for a course is a format that I already utilize, the course, module, lesson, format works best for me and my brain to organize my class.
