Annette,
How are these terms explained to the prospective student?
Dov,
Vry true! Representatives act on behalf of the institution and consequences cover both.
Deborah,
Excellent! You have demonstrated how important it is that we revisit the material regularly. Looking at the material in a different light brings it to the forefront.
Some of the term and definitions are: Class start date, expected graduation date, job placement, expected graduation date, credits cost, admissions fee, admissions requirements. Is very important to understand all admissions process and terms in order to give good and complete orientation to prospective students.
Bi-lingual- We try to offer classes to students in both English and Spainish giving our location in South Florida
Accreditation- I frequently let students know that we are an accreditted institution because we are young and many students have not heard of us.
Scholarhips- I let the students know that we have a program of scholarships that they can apply for to help offset costs. I also bring a list of them with me so I can show them the opprotunties that we offer.
Some of the terms that are common at our campus include, externship, clock hours, accredited, transcript, licensure, GED, career-oriented, immunization requirements, and credits.
The resource notebook is an invaluable tool to reference whenever any question arises, and we utilize this often.
You asked what terms and conditions commonly used during the admission process. We explain the rules as outlines in sub section 6E-2.010(2) defined in the Florida administrative code. We discuss admissions requirements, We go over the enrollment agreement and explain all sections to the applicants, including the tuttion and inform that there are no other fees involved. There is NO tuition assistance or financial aid of any kind, and there is no other paperwork involved to the applicant except for weekly tests. A student file involves a manila file folder, and no other paperwork is used. Please let me know if there is other data needed. Thank you!
One of the more commonly used terms and definitions used is the Certification Requirements. A complete and thourgh explanation for the requirements necessary for gaining certification in the students chosen program meets or exceeds their expectations.
I agree it is a cool tool, it is like a one stop shop and resource center which helps to insure that students are receiving the same information from all staff members
Asbolutely, as updates come out, I print out copies for all other reps to put in their books as well.
I'm already using my resource notebook and is great because if I have any questions I just check in my notebook
I have not started my Resource Notebook bu I think that once this notebook is done it will help the admission department a lot.
A resourse notebook is a vital part of any admissions team as rules and regulations are continually changing.
Accreditation - Accrediting Agency
Accrediting agencies provide volunteer membership for institutions and act as gatekeepers for federal funding program participation if they are approved by the US Dept. of Ed.
Enrollment - registering a student to take programs or courses at an institution when such registration obligates the student to pay tuition to the institution and obligates the institution to provide instruction to the student.
I never realized how important it is to have this critical information in an organized format, and easy to refer to. We have an important responsibility not only to our prospective students, but also to the institutions that we represent. A great resource!
Enrollment agreements are the document the students signs when they are submitting their application. It gives vital details to the student about the school, their program, services offered, etc...
Programs - this is the course that needs to be completed by the student in order to finish the program and be qualified for entry level employment in their desired field.
Hello, recently I placed a listing of places where students can find a job in my resource notebook. Also, changes in programs that are being offered which is great for me to know so I can keep my information up to date and current.
What I discovered about my institution is the catalog! Very good to have on hand.
Enrollment Agreement:
This is the document we fill out with the student, discuss the details with the student and have the student sign when they are ready to offically enroll into one of our programs.
Some things that I have placed in my Resource Notebook is our basic catalog along with the Enrollment Agreement. I've also included the directory of our directors for each department. This way I know who I need what information from etc. Very useful!
