Amie,
Thank you for posting your definitions!

James,
You are off to a great start! Continue to add additional material to make it work for you.

Duane,
The agent's role is a very important one in that an agent represents the institution and is authorized to conduct business. They must know all the regs and company policies.

Sandra,
You are building a resource tool to assist you well into the future.

The Resource Notebook is a very valuable tool for me. Thanks for giving me a clear and concise outline to follow.

The resource notebook is a extremely usefull tool that can help to have a quick reference point to rules and regulations that you may not remember. It also helps to keep in order ongoing and updated information that may change within our state and institution. One thing that I didnt realize was the actions and other requirements of the Agents, and how they have extra duties when it comes to the regulations.

I have placed sveral items in my Resource Notebook. They include: A copy on our institutional Catalog, Enrollment Agreement, Enrollment Application, All of our current advertising materials and printed copies of vocabulary words and the rules.

As a veteran admission professional with nearly 20 years experience, I was delighted to see the similarities between the florida Statutes and Rules an the Best Practices rules I have followed for years as a member of NACAC and AACRAO. It is good to see that Florida is leading in this training instead of waiting for someone else to show the way.

Common terms I use are:

Cohort: A group of students who start a program and progress through it together.

Accreditation: My institution is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Payment Plans- We do not accept financial aid, however we have several payment options available.

Reciprocity: Applies to our programs earned; they are acknowledged in other states.

I print all the material for the first forum. Also add an updated list of the organization chart for my institution, with a copy of teh school catalog and a sample form of the Student enrollment agreement.
As for the rules I learn that the marketing materials and strategies must meet the standards by the Florida Commission of Education.
Also I attach to my note book the advertisement we have available.
I am also creating a chart to implement a budget for future advertisement on a calendar year for the school. I consider that a very important part of the growth of the institution. 8-.

I would say that the main term that is of greatest interest to prospective students at my institution is the term prerequisite. Students often want to know why a course is required to be taken before registration can be allowed for a corresponding course. With us it is often a matter of what employers require prospective job seekers to present to them in the real world. We want our students to join the job market prepared in every way to make the best possible impact and therefore to have the best possible chance of landing the job.

Most of the terms and conditions in our Institution are located in The Catalog and in the student enrollment Agreement. Some of them are:Admission Requirements, TUITION,METHODS OF PAYMENT, GROUNDS FOR TERMINATION ,GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS , etc.

I keep a resource of the policies and procedures governed by the school and the state. I added the terms and definitions provided. This is an awesome tool to have access to should you have questions about any policy.

I'd placed the school catalog, enrolling agreement, advertising, organization chart.

Haissam,
Keeping current is an important part of maintaining your resource notebook.

Courtney,
Good move!

Courtney,
Understanding terms and definitions is so important. We need to fully understand so we are clear about what we are talking about.

Karen,
Excellent! Thank you for your post.

The notebook is an important tool that assists in keeping you organized with valuable information accessible at any time. In my Resource Notebook, i have put the rules and regulations of the CIE as part of my institutional guidelines. I discovered that at least once a month, a necessary check-up for updates is important in order to constantly update and review your Resource Notebook.

We had our enrollment agreement and our payment agreement combined trying to cut down on the amount of paperwork that applicants needed to fill out. But, we realized that it could be seen as a "pay to play". So, we went back to separating them.

Terms, overview, and I have requested info from mktg. The catalog in online and the org chart is being redone.
I am really, really happy to have this list of terms. I have heard a lot of them and even used a lot of them - but was not entirely sure of what they meant.
