Lauren ,
Interesting...matriculation is not a common term. The enrollment agreement, by whatever name used, is part of the contract between the student and the school.

This was very helpful for me as I had already been in the process of updating the notebook I use. Now I have a new list of items to add to the notebook so that I am better organized and better able to answer the questions that come my way.
prospective student - a student who is interested in attending the school
C&F review - Character and Fitness issues to be reviewed by special admissions committee
preregistered student - student who paid the full deposit and is ready to start class.
I am working diligently on my Notebook. It has been interesting to go from one department to the other piecing together all pertinent documents for the notebook. I hope I am able to streamline it later.
I have information regarding all our programs as well as compliance.
The terms that we use frequently in our institution are: Advertising which includes, publications, promotional items, brochures, flyers, classified advertisment etc.; enrollment agreement which we fill out completly and carefuly and is signed by both the applicant and the admissions representative, and of course our programs and catalog.
The GearBox Pricing and the credits earned.
We are regionally accredited.
It seems to be very important to know the accreditation of the college when speaking to prospect students about attending the college. I believe it is important to include the full name of the accrediting body and to include it's specific details regarding the college's programs for better understanding of how it effects the students credentialed degree upon completion of the college program.

The most common that I see pertain to application process and admission status such Hold MCAT or Hold Low GPA no supplemental which tell me that the applicant does not yet meet minimum standards.
I also see the current status of each applicant.ie. 1)web application loaded , the applicant has completed a supplemental application and is awaiting committee review 2) 1st file review, file has been through a review and is awaiting a committe decision for an interview 3) Interview confirmed , etc. for each stage of the admissions process.
When I speak with prosoective students I am able to answer their general application status
Admissions Committee Decision Status':
1. Acceptance - the applicant may be sent an offer for admission.
2. Alternate - the applicant may be sent an acceptance offer later within the admissions cycle.
Supplemental Application: is the secondary application
Prerequisites: course that are required prior to admissions
Interview Invitation: We use this to formally invite a student to the school
Matriculation Packet: This is a packet we send to the student to complete prior to enrollment
These are examples of a few that the applicants hear and are very fimilar with
catalog, enrollment agreement,Program requirements and admission requirements
Some of the terms and definitions commonly used during the admissions process at our instistution would be Accreditation, Enrollment, Enrollment Agreement, Program and Scholarship. One of the most popular would be Enrollment agreement as that is one of the first documentst aht we collect from incoming students.
Yes I can see how a Resource Notebook could help with training and keeping all information available. This will help avoid anyone giving miss information.
Where do you keep your Resource Notebook?
At our institution we comomnly use the terms such as Accreditation-Accrediting Agency, Program, and Scholarship. We also use something similar to "Enrollment Agreement" but we actually refer to it as the Matriculation Agreement that is returned signed by the students when they have decided to attend our institution.
