Nancy,
Accreditation requirements vary from each accrediting body. Some require full licensure for five years before application.

Patty Aronoff

Matthew ,

Not all schools can afford the expense of accreditation. This does not reflect negatively on a school's performances there are many great schools without accreditation. More importantly, is the school licensed by CIE.

Patty Aronoff

Frank,
Excellent! Definitions are found in both statute and rule. Not all definitions re in both places.

Patty Aronoff

Michael,

It might be better to redirect and use CIE to avoid confusion.

The common definitions and terms used in our institution is "enrollment", "fair consumer practices", "program", and "scholarship." With recent recessions in today's economy students are more likely eager to find a suitable deal to one's income. It is the best of interest to meet the student's need in a fair manner such as "fair consumer practices."

Terms commonly used throughout our enrollment and admission process are: accreditation, regarding our policies, requirements and regulations; enrollment agreement, as a detailed, agreed upon, explanation of the nature of our policies and fair consumer practices; and program, as we offer a variety of programs consisting of groups of classes, and/or the student may opt to take individual classes as well.

I agree as this information plays a pivotal role in our ability to remain compliant at all times.

Enrollment Agreement - a contract between the student and the school, must be completed in full and signed by both parties.

Accreditation - After a school has been in operation for two years, it can apply for "accreditation", which means surveyed and approved by an independent organization. Since we are a new school, we are not yet accredited.

I agree on the resourse notebook i learned many rules and regulations that needed to be followed regarding the situation and how to handle them as well.
Is it good for everyone in your staff to have a copy of a resource notebook?

That's an unfortunate truth. If they want to be assured a quality education, understanding accreditation is vital. At very least, making sure that your school has an accrediting body.

They are on our rsource notebook. Thank you.

lol...in this context, yes, we are referring to CIE. However, we also use CIE a lot as well. As an accrediting agency as well as a voluntary professional membership organization, internally we also use "Commission" to refer to our state and national accreditation commissions, as well as our state athletic commission. Maybe we need to switch and just use CIE to eliminate confusion?

Thacha,
You are right! You are conducting business on behalf of the institution. It just makes sense!

Patty Aronoff

Wendy,
History can show where you have been but also how you got to where you are today. It says so much on your vision for the future.

Patty Aronoff

Frank,
I like your point. Compliance is key and understanding why we do the things we do helps in the process.

Patty Aronoff

Michael,
Continue to add materials such as the statutes, marketing materials and internal documents such as a contact list.

Patty Aronoff

David,
You are off to a great start. Make the notebook your own by adding additional materials to assist you.

Patty Aronoff

deannia ,

Make sure to keep statistics current and cite their source. This should include a source locally

Patty Aronoff

Porsche,

Absolutely! You are creating your best resource in compliance. It will be your friend in business.

Patty Aronoff

Jason,

The ad slicks keep you in touch with your target market. You need to know what and how the school and the student crossed paths.
