I have added the Overview of Admissions Staff Training,Terms and Definitions, Creating a Resource Notebook, and The Admission Staff Training process, Also Chapter 6-E Rules and Rule 6E-2.010, F.A.C. Agents
I have placed labor statics and enrollment procedures in my handbook. It makes it alot easlier to have fact sheets about careers students may be looking to select for them to have a slight idea on how that career rank amongst other career options.
Accreditation is likely to be discussed and emphasised during an interview with me. Mainly, in the spirit of being informed about your education. For many students, this wont be the institution where they get their degree. I can only hope that having a dialoge about accreditation & what makes up a good shcool will make a difference if they have to go through the process again. Hopefully not though.
I have been compiling information during my training to be included in my Resource Notebook. I think it will be helfpful to use it as a point of refernce to ensure my ability to maintain consistent good practices in the admissions process. I have learned quite a lot, but what I have really gleaned is the importance to follow guidelines as to policy and procedure, legalities and what can and can not be said during the process.
student enrollment agreement-forms the agreement to the terms of our institution and student signature insures their understanding.
scholarship-our institution is currently offering a scholarship of pay for the 1st class get 2nd class free
program advisor-employee of institution that advises student on what program best fits their needs
one view-program designed to input and update student information from the intial contact through graduation
Cohort- A group of student that start a class together
Program Advisor-helps the student thru paperwork process
I added a Resource Notebook which includes our enrollment agreement as well as our catolog. Also my resource notebook will now include a copy of our lates ads. I feel all department should have a copy of the resoure notebook.
Elaine,
The notebook is a reference tool for all staff to utilize. I encourage other departments within the school to develop their own books. Information like this needs to be shared.

Elaine,
Advisory board committees are truly an asset to the school. Keep them involved throughout the year to keep the energy flowing.
Patty Aronoff
Elaine,
It is always a good practice to do so. One word can change an entire meaning of a sentence.
Patty Aronoff
antoine,
I commend you for all you do, the patience you exhibit, but most all for the willingness to step out of the crowd to change a life.
Patty Aronoff
Yes. I want to use words correctly when writing the catalog and Enrollment Agreement. I often re-read my writing to make sure the information I am refrencing are used correctly.
Ther Recource Notebook needs to be read by each counselor in order to have consistency. I plan to develop the Resource Notebook and have a copy for each counselor and instructor.
I have owned the school for 15 years and I have faced the challenges of "keeping up" with trends, especially in teow the technology. Improving, redefing and remaining current is a constant. The Advisory Board committee has been very helpful. Once a year we meet and discuss trends and share ideas on how to imporve the programs.
Yes, I am also a counselor by profession, which makes it easy for me to understand the need to motivate and encourage my deficient students. Having to teach homeless mentally challenged individuals also requires for me to be a case manager and be familiar with housing, hospitals, and employment resources. It might be much to handle but it is encouraging to be able to occasionally provide instant gratification.
Albert,
You are off to a great start! Keep on adding additional materials to assist you and adding to this value this book brings.
Patty Aronoff
Guy,
Keep on adding any additional documents that will assist you in doing your job compliantly. Try adding ad slicks, product knowledge information, or organizational chart.
Patty Aronoff
Bill,
FASFA is so important. We must check and verify who is released on that form. Attention to detail will certainly keep you compliant on this one.
Patty Aronoff
Elaine,
When that happens, doubt quickly sets in. Damage control must be delivered but the prospective student will ask the question of who to believe. Trust has to be reestablished.
Patty Aronoff
Elaine,
It takes discipline to constantly improve upon oneself. To be the best in our business, you must constantly improve and redefine.
