Brian,
Wel said using the term "expectations." you have brought an excellent point in the importance of information and expectations.

Tracy,
More and more prospective students are becoming aware of the term accreditation and the impact of having legitimate accreditation in their educational experience.

Enrollment Agreement:Legally binding contract that is signed by applicants to licensed institutions as well as by authorized personnel at the institution.
That you need to know EVERYTHING about your school and not just the basics.
All pertinent information was placed in my notebook. The training materials provided and the information regarding rules and regulations. I was aware of all information that was within the training thus far.
-We use many terms in admissions such as; "We can not guarantee..." and "We are accredited by...." These are terms that are use with students so that they are well informed of the expectations and the qualifications of the school.
I learned the difference between an agent and an admissions representative as it relates to our institution.
I printed the terms and definitions so I placed that in my Resource notebook. I already had a school catalog at my desk so I placed that in the inside sleeve as well. I like to be organized so this notebook will be helpful for quick reference. As far as discovering new information so far this is a refresher for me due to my past training with my organization but I did get the website for the Florida Commission for Independent Education which I did not have before.
I have placed all pertinent information in my notebook and have not, as yet, learned anything new.
I initially had a resource notebook that I have been using. I have added the Terms and Definitions and a copy of the enrollment agreement to it. I intend to a include a lot of the training material that I am receiving from the online training course I am taking today.
I love the idea of a Resource Notebook. I have been in many roles at my organization and have found using a resource notebook to be very helpful. It's a great resource to go to when policies change and when updated information has come in. I am making a new one that will be built around the training I am receiving today. I have already printed the terms and definitions and some of the material that has been outlined in the online training. I also printed the feedback on the questions I missed on the quiz to make sure that I have a full understanding. I will continue to ad to it as I go through the training.
Accreditation is for certain one of the most often heard terms here at our school. As defined in our 'terms and definitions', Accrediting agencies provide volunteer membership for institutions and act as "gatekeepers" for federal funding program participation if they are approved and recognized by the US Department of Education. They are classified generally as national, regional, or programmatic depending on their charter, approval, and scope.
Enrollment Agreement is another term we use often. As defined in 'terms and definitions', enrollment agreements are legally binding contracts that are signed by applicants to licenses institutions as well as by authorized personnel at the institution. It forms the agreement to terms of enrollment and provides disclosures which inform consumers of important policies of the institution, which their signature indicated acknowledgement of.
Mayra,
That is good news! You are creating a valuable resource for your role in admissions.

Julie,
The notebook should be the most read book in your office. It is the resource to use for compliance and direction.

Mayra,
Please define the state council for education for those of us in the forum.
Patty Aronoff
Raymond,
The catalog is the guidance and policy for the student experience at your institution. It provides responsibilities of both parties.
Patty Aronoff
Raymond,
Thank you for posting your definitions to the forum.

The resource note book is a book of information that you can reliance.
I think the thing that gives the best knowledge about my institution is the catalog. I learned a lot more about Title IV funding.
