Mike,
The enrollment agreement along with the catalog constitute the contract.

Patty Aronoff

Paul,

Are the evaluations conducted by students? Are the results compiled and available for review by the public?

Patty Aronoff

Carolina,
When you have essays as a part of the admissions process, who reviews the essays and what is the impact of the review?

Patty Aronoff

Cheryl,

It would be interesting to revisit the WITY later in the program. I would be curious on how their priorities have changed once in the program.

Patty Aronoff

Eugene,
Fair Consumer Practices protects the students but all protects the schools. A great partnership!

Patty Aronoff

Jennie,

Excellent response. Having a thorough understanding of a definition makes better communication. You know it, you understand it, then you can explain it.

Patty Aronoff

Nathan,
Your school is accredited by a regional accrediting body. Many students will ask the question on what is the difference between regional and national accreditation.

Patty Aronoff

Jennie,
A word can change total meaning in any communication. An agent conducts business outside the walls of the physical school.

In my case all the Rules and Regulations of Florida, because I am from another country.

Included in my Resource Notebook are terms and definitions provided during this training course, Statutes and Rules, information about my institution, which includes the institution catalog and enrollment agreements. In the Resource Notebook I have also included marketing materials and strategies and an example of each media and print tool used to advertise the institution. To complete the Resource Notebook, I have included an organizational chart, graduate placement statistics, and information regarding Title IV funding.

The Resource Book allowed me to discover marketing and advertising strategies that I was not aware of previously. For example, I am now aware that our institution advertises on NPR radio and I have an example of the sound bite used for this type of media.

Accrediting Agency-Accrediting agencies act as gatekeepers for an institution to receive federal funding as long as the agency is recognized by the UD Department of Education.

Enrollment Agreement- A legally binding contract that is signed by a student as well as authorized personnel at the institution.

Programs-A group of courses that when completed in the proper sequence, lead to the attainment of a diploma or degree.

As I am new to the Higher Education field, I did not realize we needed to know the details of marketing and advertising for the school. In order to answer prospective students' inquiries it is very important to know the details of all aspects of the school and the admissions process.

WITY- what's important to you (the potential student).
Program- a cluster of courses that make up a specific plan of study.

I just been working one month on the admissions department of my Institution and is quite a world! the idea of having a resource notebook is great because you can have access to the most important documents and information regarding to the department and the Institution. For me and specially at this time is very useful.

THE ADMISION REPRESENTATIVE SHUOLD INCLUDE EVERYTING ABOUT THE COMPANY THAT WAY ALL THE MATERIAL WIL BE TOGUETHER AND READY TO USE.

I have placed my institution's course catalog, enrollment agreement, and advertisements into my resource notebook, along with Chapter 6E Florida Administrative Code Commission Rules in my Resource Notebook.

I have learned that every interaction with prospective students must be carefully thought out to ensure full compliance with Commission Rules. The main focus should be full disclosure of tuition costs and refunds for withdrawals, and no over-aggressive recruiting tactics such as promising employment or a certain salary, giving bonuses or discounts in order to convince students to sign up.

Some definitions commonly used in daily conversations with prospective students could include details of Accreditation - Accrediting Agency of the school. Current Advertising of potential degrees and services offered. The identification of being an Agent for the school.
Enrollment procedures and details of the Enrollment Agreement, along with Marketing details or Pricing of services. Review of the Fair Consumer Practices. Sharing of information of available Scholarship programs, and specific details of Title IV - Financial Aid potentially available, conditions, terms, and procedures to each student, setting expectations.

Agent

A person who is employed by an independent postsecondary educational institution under the jurisdiction of the Florida Commission for Independent Education, or by an out-of-state independent postsecondary educational institution, and who secures an application or accepts payment of fees from prospective students for the institution at any place other than the legal place of business of the institution.

Enrollment

Registering a student to take programs or courses at an institution when such registration obligates the student to pay tuition to the institution and obligates the institution to provide instruction to the student.

Enrollment Agreement

A legally binding contract that is signed by applicants to licensed institutions as well as by authorized personnel at the institution. This contract forms the agreement to terms of enrollment and provides disclosures which inform consumers of important policies of the institution, which their signature indicates acknowledgement of.

Title IV

The federal allocation of funds for postsecondary education. Students who are eligible can use such funding at institutions which participate in such funding programs. Approval for participation requires that an institution be licensed or approved (where applicable) at the state level, accredited by a recognized accrediting agency that acts as a "gatekeeper" for such funding programs, and approved for participation by the US Department of Education, having been in operation for a specific amount of time and in good standing with all regulatory agencies under which the institution is licensed or which it is approved by.
