I placed the history of the school and the Fall 2012 Class Profile in my Resource Notebook. I didn't know that even though our school was founded in 1996, we did not gain full ABA accredidation until 2002.

The resource notebook is priceless this is an excellent tool for Admissions Reps.

During admission process is application forms, orientation, second tier interview, enrollment agreement process, handbook, catalog and F/A complete.

It doesn't appear that there was a solid policy manual in the office when I started. I have created a resource notebook that I keep all the changes that constantly go on throughout the year regarding academic policies, contacts at main campus, and new rules regarding adding/dropping classes, or anything that pertains directly to how we counsel students. In other words informatin that I use weekly.

1. Admissions process- this includes the degree evaluation, online application, ordering transcripts, and applying for financial aid
2. Degree plan - comprehensive plan that lists any courses a prospective student has already taken and outlines all the remaining requirements toward fulfilling the chosen degree
3. Catalog- lists the programs offered by the University, tuition and fees, grade requirements, rules and regulations, admission policies, and core curriculum requirements
4. Tuition- amount of money each course will cost the student
5. Transcripts- official documents from high school, colleges, trade schools, and military showing courses that a student has taken and the grade received

As a Director of Admissions, I think this is an excellent tool for Admissions Reps to refer to on an ongoing basis and especially when new and there is so much to remember and they have to be careful to be in compliance with. I am sure it gives new Reps a sense of security to know they can go back to it whenever they are unsure about a situation.

"Entrance Exam" - Short, timed, basic math and english assessment

"Accelerated Program" - Our institution provides a one course per month approach where each class only lasts 4 weeks but moves pretty fast.

"Accredited" - National or Regional

"Pathophysiology" - It's a convergence of pathology with physiology. Pathology describes conditions typically observed during a disease state, whereas physiology describes processes or mechanisms operating within an organism.

Credit hours: the hours accrued by the student for successfully completing a class.

Tuition: The fees and costs of taking a course.

Registration: the process by which the student goes online and signs up for classes.

Transcripts: the document from another institution listing courses and grades the student earned.

Goals: what the student plans to do with the degree, or what their end plan is.

Pre-requisites: a class a student must take in order to be eligible to take a major course.

Degree plan: the document given to the student that outlines what classes they will need to successfully complete to receive their diploma.

I have place information about certifications that the school offers, about the rules and regulations the admissions team get together in a regular basis to learn and discuss any new rules or regulations.

Our institution has health requirments. I have placed all information pertaining to this in my Resource Notebook. It covers all requirements needed by our institute and procedures that are followed to obtain Immunizations etc. I find this so very useful and it has become my 'go to' friend

We have a strick dress code that needs constant monitoring. While students are here they all should be following the dress code at all times. I did know some but not all the details as to dress code policies. The Resource Notebook enables me to access the printed policies to student for verification of dress codes

There are many institutional rules regulations and requirements that must be followed. For example the prospective students must be informed that we are accredited by ACICS.

The one thing that I did decide to add was a copy of the most updated enrollment agreement. Although I have it in front of me all the time, I actually never really read it. It is interesting the amount of detail that is in the agreement.

I find that enrollment agreement, seminars and even accreditation seem to be used quite often.

Having it in my interview also enables me to show prospective students that I have Accreditation/instiution and CIE information at hand, and that it gives sense of legitimacy to my school.

The catalog along with the enrollment agreement constitute the contract between the student and the school.

Being new to the admissions game, I was wondering if there are resourceses that anyone can suggest that are unrelated to school policy but still germane to the subject.
