Ian ,
I think that is great that you learned something about your school. This is important information.
Patty Aronoff

JORGE MANUEL,
Thank you for your feedback! Knowledge is power and you have a powerful resource.

Patty Aronoff

Beth,
You have an excellent plan in place. I keep track of the changes that occur at the front of my notebook, e.g. accreditation criteria updated 2.1.2013, so that I know what has been updated at a glance.

Patty Aronoff

Larry,
It is a tremendous amount of information. But by training and oversight, we make sure our Admissions staff is compliant.

Patty Aronoff

Susana,
Coomunication is key when it comes to rules and regulations. We all need to be informed of changes and how the changes affect the school and the student.

Patty Aronoff

Diana,

Excellent to hear! This certainly would be a valuable part of your resource notebook.

Patty Aronoff

Diana,

Excellent! The student should be informed of the policy at the time of enrollment, given a copy of the policy, and sign that they have received it. Enforcement is so much easier with these steps in place.

Patty Aronoff

Sudat,
Yes, and the school needs to provide the student the contact information of the accrediting agency.

Patty Aronoff

Joel,
It is very detailed and it is part of the contract. If you review it along with the rules, you will understand the meaning behind its details.

Patty Aronoff

Ian,

It shows you are ready and you know your stuff. This means so much beyond words.

Patty Aronoff

Michael,
You are starting out with a gresat resource, the forum. The best suggestions come from your peers.

Patty Aronoff

Michael,

Counselor is a term that in academia means the person has received additional formal education on the subject matter and can serve in such capacity. It is not a term for admissions.

Patty Aronoff

Catalina,
Many schools have a student handbook in conjunction with the catalog. Although the catalog and the enrollment agreement constitute the contract with the student, a handbook outlines many aspects of school life.

Patty Aronoff

Wendy,
Transcripts must be official and verified. Transcripts issued to the student or unofficial transcripts are not acceptable.

Patty Aronoff

Theodore,
Wonderful! I learned something today from your definitions.

Patty Aronoff

Beth,
Excellent! You not only brought new definitions to the forum, you gave a full explanation of each. Kudos!

Patty Aronoff

Joel,
Definitions are so important in that we must be using the correct terminology for clear understanding.

Patty Aronoff

Susana,

You are correct! When the student signs the enrollment agreement, they are signing that they have read and received a copy of the catalog.

Patty Aronoff

New student orientation, enrollment agreement

I get that an agent or admissions rep cannot be called counselor. But what is the difference? I thought that admission counselor was appropriate.
