Marguerite,
You have the best of both worlds! Having both a paper copy and electronic copy keeps you in the know quickly.

The Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations that regulate the activities at my institution are learned in a multitute of ways. First and foremost through the Commission's website, which I check once per month for updates. I train the Admissions staff to keep them current on information. I work closely with my campus Executive Director who monitors very closely as well. Similarly, I work closely with the Director of Education and Program Directors to remain informed of any required program or licensure changes and train my staff accordingly.
I too will be printing them all out and highlighting those that are widely referenced and continually reading thru them to familiarlize myself with them as well as making sure I review any changes made monthly to keep updated.
The college I work for is very thorough in their prepartion on how to regulate activities at our institution. We have numerous resources offered to our admissions team so we can always be in compliance.
Aguie,
It can be overwhelming. Take manageable moments and learn and build from that one.

Troy,
We need to be trained from various sources. By understanding the rules you need to apply them according to company policy.

Joseph ,
Great job! Keeping current is the second part of this exercise.

DAHLIA,
Continue to learn! It takes a while to put everything altogether.

ramtin,
Excellent! By looking at the documents that are regulated you're putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

Yvette,
Meetings are important. We have an opportunity to share ideas and ask questions. Everyone learns.

James,
Excellent! You're building a great resource for assisting you in your position.

Sergio,
The Commission website is the best place to start for things regarding our sector. Check out their website often.

I am printing all the rules and regulations and keeping them in my resource notebook so I can review them frequently. I am also keeping them on my laptop so I have more than one way to access them
The Statutes, Rules and Regulations can be overwhelming because there is so much to learn and can be change from time to time. I have found that if I utilize the tools available through the following entities, it has been a much easier process to understand.
www.fldoe.org (CH 1005 Florida Statutes, and CH 6E Florida Administrative Code are extremely detailed and will give the reader a complete resource. I call my Program Specialist when unsure and confused.
Aguie Bassia,
I am becoming more familiar with the rules and regulations by following the policies and procedures that my institution utilizes at every campus. Also onboard training and communication with various staff members gives me the information necessary for my position.
I read them, and keep updated checking to see if there has been any changes monthly.
I am learning them through this website training course as well as reviewing them on the CIE website. This training also provided us with a list of necessary information needed and where to find them so i will be utilizing that as well.
By reading the catalog, enrollment agreement, application forms and other material such as paper advertisement and comparing them to the Florida statutes and rules and regulations that have been printed out in my binder, I am able to learn more about how the rules and regulations regulate us and how we have implemented these.
Weekly meeting with our marketing team and asking questions about procedures when I do not know.
I've had to print out the regulations to put in the Resource Folder from module 1. Otherwise, I've obtained copies of the catalog and enrollment agreement to understand how the policies and regulations specifically apply to my institution.
