online through the Commission updates, newsletters and announcements
The online training is very helpfull not just in learning but understanding the rules and regs that regulate activities. The DOA and DOE also are instramental is making sure staff trained and in compliance.
Our legal department has been a great help in learning the regulatory environment. I also touch base with our compliance department regularly. Outside of that I stay current with accreditors and the online licensing site.
Since I am new to this field I have been doing a lot of research to be sure I am up to date and full of knowledge for all my schools regulations. I also only use the most recent copy of our enrollment agreement, catalog, and its suppliments and adendums when enrolling a student.

I think the best way is to keep up to date with the statutes is by checking the Commissions website. This would also show any new or changed rules wouldn't it?
As the Director of Compliance, I have become very familiar with the Commission for Independent Education (FL) website as our university moves forward to secure our state license. Using a simple checklist has been helpful to ensure that we are in line with the Florida Statutes and Rules/Regulations.
Learning the various Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations that regulate my activities and institution is an on-going process. The CIE website, the school catalog, on-going workplace trainings and personal research are ways to stay informed. However, staying compliant is a marathon more so than a race. That is to say, we must have a a consistently accurate understanding of the statutes, rule and regulations, and remain updated on changes and how they impact our roles. We must be diligent in the upkeep of our knowledge base to remain compliant and represent our institutions with integrity.
Before starting the process of opening a vocational training facility I studied and read the COPs for institutions in Florida. My CIE representative has been very helpful in assisting me to get the catalog items correct and in compliance. It has been a learning process for me, one that I am excited to be involved with. Once we get the CNA / HHA programs up and running, we will be looking at a LPN program. I continue to read the updates, file them in my COP book and stay up with the current changes.
The MaxKnowledge training is assisting with the knowledge about Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations. additionally researching on internet assists to that end.

We prepared a Resource Book were we have all the updated regulations from the Commission (FDOE). That way we can go back and forth with doubts to that book. It is always a good idea to go into the commission's website to read and learn new changes.
