I have printed out the rules and regulations and placed them in my notebook along with our schools policy. I also have a pop up on my computer to check the commission website monthly and print any new information.

I often use CIE and the Dept. of Ed. to stay up to date on the rules and regulations. Our school also accredited by ACICS, so I also reference information provided by them. Our school does a great job of holding regular meetings to discuss updates and changes to policies and procedures.

To be honest, all of this is new to me as a Program Director. I know that the catalog contains the requirements for admission into the school. What I really find very helpful is now having the tools to keep abreast of any new rules that may be enforced at any given time.

The link to the statues you have provided is a great asset, thanks. I have printed them out and placed them in the binder after reading through the information. It's a great value that the state statues and rules and regs are in place to protect the end user, the consumer/student. We as education agents of the state need to provide full disclosure so as to inform the consumer of options of their various institutions of higher education in the state of Florida.

Judy,
You will find it all coming together the more you expand your knowledge of the rules. I would suggest you have a copy of your catalog when going through Standard 11.

I am finding the course very helpful. Having the relevant links in the module helps us to know exactly what topics will be covered. I plan to visit the website monthly to stay current and compliant.

We are encouraged to join as many forums as possible to keep abreast of new regulatory information. We are also encouraged to continually check state websites to ensure we are in compliance. Our Director of Regulatory Affairs does an exceptional job of holding meetings to keep all departments informed of new or changing regulations.

I am creating a Resource Notebook to incorporate copies of the Statutes, Rules and Regulations. I am also making a second copy to highlight and review daily until I feel confident that I am familiar enough to review as needed. I am also going to take the highlighted copies and use them to review our institutions catalog.

The way I am learning us thur the on line training anbd printing the Statutes, rules and
Regulationso frm the Web Site.

I can understand the importance of setting up
Statutes, Rules and Regulations in the Resource Notebook, there are so many it is vital that these rules be followed properly and correctly, and to have them at you fingertips at all times.

It is also imparative that the State Regulate all Schools and Colleges to make sure that all
are complying with Fair Consumet Practices.

I have printed out all of the various Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations that regulate my activities and the institution I work for and have filed them accordingly in a binder. I have also labeled each Statute making it easily accessible and reviewable.

By going over the different statures. I am getting more familiar with the rules and regulations which will make better prepare for my future students.

I always look for the correct information from the right resources. I start by asking questions and our management staff in each department is always a good place to start (FA, Admissions, Career Services, Etc) because they are the most knowledgeable and my best assets. If I have any further questions I do my own research. I make sure to stay up to date on any changes to the state laws, rules and regulations pertaining to my company. We do a great job of using each other (Employees) as resources to stay up to speed.

This couse has provided very meaningful information regarding the statutes, rules and regulations. The Commission for Independant Education website has also been helpful in providing additional information.

Dept of Ed websites. We also stay in contact with numerous state contacts to keep us updated on regulations or pending regulations.

Reviewing each section and highlighting important information.

Agreed, I like having the material handy. I think its important to have reference material from many sources not just the info from your employer.

Lisa,
I know that it seems like so much but you will be glad you did.

As I progressed through this training, I printed EVERYTHING and have added it to my resource notebook.

Aimee,
There are always changes! Knowing what to do as well as NOT to do is important.
