John,
It is a great plan! Having two formats available to you gives you the best of both worlds.

I am keeping all my paperwork and guides organized in a notebook. This allows me to know exactly where to go to find necessary documents and processes without having to look for anything or be unprepared. Having this notebook put together allows me to feel comfortable and confident that there is nothing being over looked or forgotten.
I am composing a binder style notebook with dividers as I continue in my training. I have also created a folder on my work computer, "Admissions Training" where I am also saving all training documents. I plan on using these to stay proficient at my job and also to train assistants.
MARIE ROSE,
Excellent! These resources should be handy and ready to work for you.

Student records should be locked and secure. FERPA requirements are there to protect the student information and a locked cabinet is step one.

julie,
Student records should be kept under lock and key. This is priviledged information according to FERPA.

each student will have his/her own folder. It will be kept in drawer cabinet key.
The information talked about on these module give me an idea of how to organize the paperwork related to the admissions process. Organization is one of the key elements of the admissions process. This is especially important when an institution offers a great variety of programs. Organization is key to provide adequate information to the prospective student.
Organizing all the paperwork can be seen from two different perspectives. First, we can talk about the organizations that has to be made before the prospect student arrives. The “Resource Notebook†can even provide a few guidelines, that manage to help out the admissions representative prior to the interview. As well, I think that organizing all the paperwork helps us as admissions representatives to deliver a more accurate service. It will facilitate the demonstration that can be provided to the prospect student, having all the literature related to the school in proper and logical order.
amber,
Excellent! Having materials organized and ready to go is so important.

Amy,
You have work cut out for you in keeping four states straight. Most states are very similar in their requirements but they have their own nuances.
