As they work directly with the student and the clinical sites, they have a first hand idea of what employers are looking for in in employees.

Our school offers programs in Business Management, Criminal Justice Management, Education and Social Work. I continue to learn about these programs from the professors, advisors and event the students. The training, certifications and licenses necessary to gain employment in these fields are a part of my initial conversations with the students when I meet with them. I stay current with the certifications and licensure requirements through reading and conversations with faculty.
My school offers Culinary,International Baking and Pastry, Auto, AC/Refrigeration, medical, dental, business, cosmetology programs;and assorted AAS degrees to compliment the diploma programs.
The best way to learn the programs is seeing the students in action. One of the effective way to learn about our programs, is to tour the classrooms to meet with the instructors and the setting. For example as an employee we had an opportunity to experiences what culinary students felt. We had to attended session where they give us recipes for three different meals that we had to make and finish under specific instructions. Also are news letter is a good tool to learn about the programs that we offer.
We offer a range of healthcare programs such as medical billing and coding, medical assisting, massage therapy, medical office assistant, EKG tech, etc. Knowing about the jobs offered in each off these is the key so you can fully explain to the student what they need to expect.
Jeff,
They love to share their expertise and talk about their programs.
We offer Medical and Dental Assisting, Cosmotology, Automotive Technology, and Heating/AC/Refridgeration, Culinary, International Baking and Pastry and assorted AAS degrees to compliment the diploma programs listed above.
To learn about the jobs students train for I can talk to career services and also simply look around in any of the environments that correspond with these feilds of study. For example, I have learned a lot about what mnedical and dental assitants do by watching and asking questions when I go tothe doctor and dentist. I have learned mor ebaout cosmotology when I talked with my stylist and asked him if he would be interested in hiring any of oiur graduates.
We currently train our students for careers in Cosmetology and Barbering programs. When completing the minimal state requirements for completion of 1200 hours in school, students are then directed to the state board examination process for licensing.
Proactively interacting with each of the department heads / directors provides a wealth of information that is useful in rounding out the knowledge base of the admissions representative.
Bobbet,
Career Services has an important role. When our students graduate and have a job, we all share in their success.
