Criminal Justice, Nursing, IT Programs
Researching job titles, looking at the Bureau of Labor Statistics Website, talking to Career Services, talking to instructors & students currently working in the field. Talking to alumni working in their field of choice.
My school offers programs which focus on computers. Programs such as IT, Electronics Criminal Justice and Computer Drafting and Design. I keep updated on the programs through our Product Knowledge sessions. We meet with department chairs to keep abreast of course content.
Our School offers programs in IT and Electronics. We typically have workshops and One on One product knowledge training on Monday, in which we further examine what our programs offer our students.
We offer mostly technical programs, and in addition to the training mentioned by some other individuals who posted in the forum about technical schools, like regular product knowledge offerings by Program Chairs and In Service trainings, we also have the opportunity to sit in on guest speaks and club meetings. Attending student functions like guest speaks and club meetings allows us to hear the latest buzz on the jobs and requirements (such as certifications) that current students are searching for.
We offer technical degree programs ranging from Electronics to Programming.
Each quarter we hold an inservice training and have the Placement Director sit in and discuss with us some success stories of recent grads and how they are doing in their field of study. We also have weekly meetings with the Program Chairs to inform us of the different avenues that a student may take based on their program.
It keeps us up to date on what is happening in the workforce in regards to our programs.
I work for a technical school which focus heavily on computers and I learn about the various programs through product knowledge. Product knowledge provides me the opportunity to learn what is being taught in the program and how students are engaged to learn about future career potentials.
We concentrate in the Computer business with 3 different schools, also CJ & Health & Science schools.
We constantly have Product Knowledge, not only about the programs but Career Services so we can have updates in what is out there (employment opportunities)
My educational center is very proactive in helping us remember what the Programs are and what their staff (chairs & professors) can do for the alumni.
Our school provides diplomas and training for people who work in the addictions field. We have three diplomas: Addiction Specialist (AS), Addiction Counseling (AC), Addiction Professional (AP). The programs are very targeted to people either currently working in the Addictions field, or who desire to transition into the field from other associated or non-associated fields. Many people who come into our programs have only a High School or GED education. Our programs are progressive, and many students advance from the AS program, into the AC program...with a smaller percentage of people advancing to receive a diploma as an Addiction Professional. According to the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment opportunities for Addiction Counselors is expected to increase more than 20% over the course of the next decade. Students receive counseling regarding their employment goals. Students are advised that addiction-related jobs are most often found by students who are able to spend time working with agencies and organizations that provide support to individuals who are struggling with substance abuse issues. Students are provided with information on agencies that provide substance abuse services, and are encouraged to contact these agencies in pursuit of volunteer or unpaid internship opportunities. These agencies, include, but are not limited to treatment facilities, hospitals, social services agencies, churches, etc. This is essential because most 'paid' positions require some practical hands-on experience. Students are advised that they should seek to establish a referral network with individuals who work in the addictions field and in these agencies. Our school maintains a professional network with these organizations. Our Director is also an HR professional and she keeps us informed on changes and trends within the labor market, in general, and within the addictions field, in particular.

We offer professional training teaching the skills necessary to enter the workforce as an entry level tender/commercial diver. I have associates working in the field, and can share stories and give students some perspective on the realities of the job. The excellent physical condition required, frequency of travel, sometimes harsh or contaminated working conditions and time spent away from family means this career is not for everyone. It's definitely not like recreational snorkeling in an exotic tropical location!
Our school offers programs in the Wellness and Beauty Industry, such as Massage Therapy, Medical Assisting,Cosmetology and Skin Care. The best way is to speak to Career Services and also at our Alumni Events to speak to graduates and to pass on their experiences to students. Also by having employers come as guest speakers to inform students of career opportunities.
Our institution offers programs in the Wellness, Beauty and Health fields. The best way to learn about the jobs students train for is sitting with career services, attend career services seminar for the students and setting in class.
We offer graduate education programs specifically designed for teachers who either want to stay in the classroom or go into administration.
We offer an array of beauty related courses including: Cosmetology, Skin Care, Massage, Nail Technology, Full Specialist, and Electrology.
The programs we offer are Business Administration, Hospitality & Tourism, Human Resource, Marketing, logistic and International Business. I’ve learn about the programs through the materials we offer including catalog which informs us of all the classes they will be taking. Researching on line about the different positions and salaries is a good resource to learn about the jobs that the students are training for is a great toll to use.
We offer two graduate programs.
1. M Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction
2. M Ed. in Educational Leaderships
We have collaborative partnerships with many of the school districts. We attend leadership meetings with the schools. Our program coordinators are actively involved in meetings and activities to promote the benefits of the partnership with the school, as well as to determine the needs of the teachers and community, and what is neccessary for us to be able to meet those needs. We also attend teacher ED Fairs union meetings etc,. The school websites are also very current in listing job descriptions and expectations for positions in the school district. We also have instructors on board that also work for the school system and relate information to us in adminstration meetings. In addition to that we have an alumni board and keep track of our students successes and job placements.
