By getting familiar with the institutions policies and procedures it made me realize the important role I play as an admission representative. Everyday is a learning experience and my position brings new challenges everyday.

I would rate my knowledge as pretty high about the institution I work for. However, I have been here for 4 years, and I do not know it all. Things are constantly changing, so I am constantly learning in my role each and every day. I know the most about the admissions side of things as that has been the department I have worked for throughout my tenure here. I know least about academics and finance, but am continuing to learn each day. I have also been a student at the institution I work for, so I know that assists me with the current knowledge that I do have.

I've been an Enrollment Advisor with my institution for about 7 years, and I still learn something new every day. I feel this knowledge should contain programs offered, and their requirements (including work experience if applicable and licenses required (if applicable). This also includes tuition and fees, and finance options available including but not limited to cash, financial aid, tuition assistance, scholarships and grants. Advisors should know whether or not programs are offered online or at the local campus and the participation and attendance requirements. We have to also know the times the facilities are available and locations students can visit and attend. Advisors must also know the admission requirements, the services we offer, rules and regulations. The advisors should also have an understanding of the types of accreditations for instance we’re regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission a member of the North Central Association. We also have programmatic accreditations such as ACBSP (Business Programs); CCNE (Nursing Programs); TEAC (Education Programs). We also accept test scores from CLEP and DANTES (DSST) exams which save students money and time on their degrees. I’m discovering more and more about career research and alumni resources, how to apply what is being taught throughout the program, and the opportunities students have with after degree completion.

Hi Patty,
I rate my knowledge of our institution faily well. We are always evolving and changing but I feel comfortable with the communication being given to keep us up to date on these changes. I can say that even though I may not know academics or student services as well as I know admission, I know who and where to go to get the correct information.

I have an unfair advantage, in that I have worked with my institution for over a decade, and am quite knowledgeable about our programs, policies, financial svcs, student svcs, operations, marketing, compliance and regulatory issues, and more.

This course did reinforce the importance of staying up-to-date on many issues, especially regarding licensing and regulations that are constantly changing.

I have been with my institution for less than a year. I continue to educate myself on program changes, funding options, changes in enrollment processes, and how this all effects our students. I think it is important to be as knowledgeable as possible about the institution when advising students and potential students.

Tony,
You have a great benefit of working in these different roles to give you a deeper understanding of your institution.

Patty Aronoff

Shanna,
Revisiting the regulations brings us to a new level of understanding. Keep on learning!

Patty Aronoff

Jennifer,
Good deal! Certainly preparing the application for licensure is a big undertaking. You have an even deeper understanding of the regulations and the Commission.

Patty Aronoff

Jennifer,
Excellent! Be sure to share your knowledge and expertise with others. Knowledge is the gift that should be shared.

Patty Aronoff

Brittany,
Try sitting in on classes for a first hand experience you will not forget!

Patty Aronoff

Timothy,
Having the means to grow is pat of the mission of your institution. Knowing how you are going to move forward keys into the future.

Patty Aronoff

I've been with my institution for 9+ years, and have extensive knowledge about our operation. I've been fortunate to work in a management capacity as well as a director capacity for many years.
