Regular meetings are key in any industry. I worked for one company that held a company meeting each week and every department gave a brief update on any news they had to share. The meetings were only scheduled to last for 15 minutes but were a great way for everyone to feel connected to what was happening in the company.
I am new but I am sure we will be required to meet weekly to discuss new information.
My manager has weekly meetings and i take away alot from it.

We have regular meeting with my director to go over policies and procedures. Make sure we are always following and adhering to the policies.
As a team, we feel it is necessary to have a meetings every two weeks to discuss the job, admissions policies, regulatory requirements, and the school. During the meetings, we discuss things that are current, potentially beneficial and goals for the school.
Our Admissions Team meets weekly to discuss enrollment numbers, new and existing procedures, brainstorming for improvement and any issues or problems. We are lead by our DOA. We also meet weekly with the registrar, bursar and financial aid in one large meeting so we can all be one the same page to help students through the enrollment process. It is effective to understand all that needs to happen to successfully enroll students in a positive way.
We have daily meetings, weekly trainings, monthly staff meetings and regular bimonthly meetings. All of this varies during start week. It usually increases to ensure all departments are still tracking the same information and current on all angles.
I will be attending more meetings so that I can learn more about my job, and everyhting about this campus.

I have always felt it important to attend conferences to stay as up-to-date as I can on trends in enrollment services. My favorites are NACAC, AACRAO SEM, LSAC and NASFAA. Academic Impressions have done some really strong programs in the past. I have also enjoyed TargetX and their conferences. Brian Niles and his crew do a wonderful job.
Meetings also keep you connected with your co-workers and other colleagues you may not usually interact with on a daily basis.
