We have at least two regularly scheduled
meetings held weekly that I attend to learn more about my job, admissions policies, regulatory requiements, and the institution. One is held on Mondays and the other is held on Fridays. Along with those meetings we also have several additional trainings throughout the month.
Staff meetings and conferences with the owners and campus director.
Our department hosts a few types of weekly and monthly meetings to inusre we are up to date on everything. I feel that it is vital to attend each and everyone. That is one of the worst things you can do as an admissions representative is not know something and thus not provide any important to a prospective student because of your lack of knowledge.
Admission Meetinf and staff Meetings
I regularly attend different department (academic, finance, operations) meetings so that I can understand what they do and how their roles affect the students. This also helps me handle situations with students more easily because I have more insight into the requirements that they need.
I try to attend all meetings that the Admissions staff is invited to. There is always information you need.
It's very important to meet on a daily basis to discuss any changes that may impact the admissions process at your campus. A meeting can take as little as 15minute to discuss what occured in an admissions interview or as long as 1 hour to conduct admissions training on a specific subject matter.
thats great this is something i will soon apply as being new. i like to learn this way and stay updated on all information.
Maria,
Career fairs are an excellent way to keep the community ties strong and market your school.

Veronica,
As you continue on, you will find meetings are a waY to maintain communication and continue to learn..
Patty Aronoff
I attend several career fairs a week, and speak with individuals from all different backrounds.
I attend regular admission policy meetings with the Board of Directors and other schools in the area.
I've really attended just one meeting so far. This is a relatively new Institution, and the meeting was to explain/advise about the Institution, its Policies and Procedures and also to have our input.
It was in this forum that this course became a reality, for which I'm so grateful. I have so much more information to impart and am confident that I will be able to assist my Institution competently when the time arrives.
Thanks again Patti.
Sherrillann,
A smaller environment may require less meeting times. The important factor is that depArtments are working together and maintain a solid communication.
Patty Aronoff
Even though we are a smaller school, we do not have many meetings. I have mentioned that we at least try to have at least two a month. We communicate every day with one another so we are all on the same page!
:) Sherrillann
Maritza,
Excellent! Morning kick-off meetings are a common feature of admissions. We need to understand our goals and how we are accomplishing those goals.
Patty Aronoff
Paul,
Excellent! Product knowledge training should be an ongoing feature of training.
Patty Aronoff
michelle,
Product knowledge training is key in today's admissions departments. As our clients become more knowledgeable, we must be at the top of our game.
Patty Aronoff
Helmi,
Excellent! Continue to learn at these meetings by asking questions or sharing experiences.
