Tracy,
It is the student's responsibility to fully research on their own. We can provide them resources and encouragement but ultimately the final product of their research should be theirs.

Patty Aronoff

tony,

It also provides an even competition between schools and the students wishing to further their education.

Patty Aronoff

It helps to regulate the policies and procedures for the institution.

They are making sure the information that we give is 100% accurate.

We need to be sure that we are careful of what information we are giving out and that it is always 100% accurate. If we are not sure we will find the correct answer or refer the student to the proper website or department.

keeps us focused and honest

I think the requirements force us to be sharp and force us to dig deeper to find the correct information. For example, I encourage students inquiring to check the Bureau of Labor Statistics for salaries but I also encourage them to do some research on their own to determine what holds true in their local markets or the places where they want to end up working.

I think it also forces those of us who work in cubicles to keep each other in check.

Raymond,
Exactly! Students need to do their own research but also realize that there are no guarantees. Employers will vary on what they will pay.

Patty Aronoff

I do not discuss job salaries with them. I influence them to do their own research. I do refer them to the Bureau of Labor Statistics but remind them that these are Median salaries and may not be entry-level.

Jennifer,

We should always be honest and speak with integrity and true knowledge. We are in the business to change lives through education.

Carlos ,

I am a believer of the introduction of career services from the beginning of our relationship with the students. They should be working on their goal of career placement from the beginning. I have prospective students meet with career staff and establish a relationship right away.

Patty Aronoff

well this makes us have to be accountable for everything we say and do. You can not make up facts, salaries, or anything that is not a truth. This is a great thing and I for one believe that this will make us be better in admissions arena and alos help are prospective students get the information that they need.

Ms. Aronoff

Eventhough ICE proposes the regulations in order for the agents or admission reps to perform our jobs, wouldn't also be advisable to have mentors that assist student in career advancement and/or goals. I know Bureau of Labor Statistics is a great tool for potential jobs & outlook but I've found it myself very rewarding for students to have a professor or someone in the field they seem to be interested; being able to speak to and give an outlook on that potential career path and explain how they got to their current position. I've found that they sometimes get a more realistic outlook on career advancement, from getting advice from someone already in that field of interest. What are your thoughts? Thank you.

J. ,

The Commission is a consumer protection agency. The rules are set to protect the students in the state of Florida while receiving their education.

Patty Aronoff

Adalinda,

Compliance is first and foremost. Ethics and integrity follow.

Patty Aronoff

The commission requirements ensure that schools make every effort to uphold fair consumer practices such as completely disclosing to prospective students, credit transfer policy.

The Commission for Independent Education requirements affect my job performance in every way possible because every aspect of admission is regulated in some way. Therefore I must make sure to always adhere to regulations and policies.

Zachery,
Absolutely! The Commission is there to protect both the students and the educational institutions in Florida.
Patty Aronoff

Sandra,
Codes of conduct are such important documents. If we follow the code, we provide excellent customer service and perform well as an employee of the institution.

Patty Aronoff

This regulatory body establishes and sets forth certain compliance factors which need to be followed by the institution.
