This is a great guide for admissions representatives with little or no experience. It's important to give accurate and complete information on all policies and procedures for students and admissions representatives. There is a lot of information involved in this business and it can be confusing.. But having the knowledge right there in front of you, that will be the key to providing students with information, in order for them to make a sound judgement.

I did not know that there are twelve standards,I am working on my Resource Notebook,it already has a lot of important information

I place all my important documents in the my Resource Notebook. i have my institution rules and other important information. It's easy to store all my information and easy to keep updated as needed.

Being heavily involved in our advertising and marketing, I have started to compile our different sources. In addition, we recently included a specific, multiple choice question in our student evaluation form given at the end of the course to help us determine the manner in which a student found us.

I've recently have our payment/refund policy clarified since starting the resource book.

Bobbet,
Don't forget the rules and laws. All agents and certain school personnel must complete background check through the state.

Yasmin,
Student services do an amazing job. Many times our students need that extra assistance in order to complete school.

I have placed in my Resource Notebook the school catalog, organization chart, marketing materials and Enrollement Agreement.
I didn't know how much of assistance our student service department offer thoughout the course, such as academic assistance, daycare, and even personal counseling.

My Resource Notebook has a Catalog, Price Schedule, Student Handbook, Enrollment Agreement and other forms for our institution that are relevant to our admissions process.

I have discovered that an admissions employee is required to complete additional forms such as criminal justice information.

Paul,
It appears that you have identified additional resources that will assist you. Thank you for your post.

Frances,
Good news! This course will be a good refresher for you.

Natacha,
The students need to know the full breadth of the contract in which they are entering into.

Jennifer,
Definitions are important to the student so they cvan fully understand the policies of the institution.

At my Institution we use terms like, Enrollment agreement, Proof of Graduation, Fafsa, etc. We use terms that often that help prepare and inform the student.

I have plced the course leaerning objectives, terms and definitions & the commission rules and regulations. Thus far I have not discovered anything that I did not know about my institution or the rules and regulsations.

In the Resource Notebook, along with what was already stated, I keep a script for phone interviews as well as in person interviews based on school requirements. This keeps every interview consistent with regulations and policies of the school.
I also keep the Q and A for regulatory questions so I give the right answers to students staying in bounds.
The area of the resource notebook I was not aware of is the marketing plan. I receive weekly schedules of advertising but not what is said. That is something I can add to my binder.

Some of the terms and definitions commonly used during the admission process in my institution include the courses that are available and their descriptions, the lengh, cost, the schedules, documents required for enrollment, start dates, orientation dates once they enroll, information about mandatory entrance tests with their apropiate topics and finally really important, information about the school so they know a little bit more about us.

Jessica,
You are off to a great start. Make the notebook your own and work for you.

I have placed the terms and definitions in the resource notebook. Thus far there is nothing new that I've learned about my instituion or the rules and regulations that must be followed.

I currently have all of these suggested items in different file folders. I already have a list of tabs going now and ideas on how I'm going to make it easier to access by having them in one location!

We teach and you earn a degree through learning and following the rules and requirements set forth in the school catalog and enrollment agreement. Our institution is accredited by the ACICS accrediting body recognized by the US Department of education. The enrollment agreement explains the details for enrolling into a specific program to include financial aid arrangements, when the school enrollment period begins, the cancellation policy details, and the refund policy, should the student not finish the enrollment period. The financial aid process includes the assistance by school officials to the student in applying for federal and state financial aid used in attending and financing school enrollment.
