Reading and studing the florida statues and reading others comments on implementation at their facilitys. Plus, writing and developing our facilitys Resource notebook.

Jacquelyn,

There are many avenues in which we can obtain continuing education. It is important that we continue the quest to improve and strengthen our knowledge.

Patty Aronoff

Trainings, websites and going to conferences.

Fritz ,

Excellent! You need to understand the statues and the rules in order to operate compliantly.

Patty Aronoff

Tamara,

Referred to your binder often. The binder is the source of everything compliant.

Patty Aronoff

I look at how a certain statute relates to my particular role and I follow procedures that make sure that I am in compliance.

Ways I am learning the various Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations that regulate my activities and my institution are by maintaining a binder with statues as well as continually checking for updates.

Olga,
The websites are great reference. It is very good practice to check them once a month for updates.

Patty Aronoff

Joshua,
Your CIE program specialist is a great reference. They are always just a phone call or email away.

Patty Aronoff

By checking once a month CIE and FAPSC for updates, newsletters, keeping our institution up to date is important to be in compliance.

Along with continual review and monthly update verifications via the website. We have taken the opportunity to get to know our program specialist and by doing so we now have a good point of contact when there are questions.

Ruth,
Excellent! Refer to the statutes and rules often.

Patty Aronoff

I printed out for my resourse book.

Brooke,
You have an excellent plan in place to keep your skills sharp.

Patty Aronoff

Thank you for providing the site. One of my Best Practices is saving this site to my favorites and adding a monthly reminder in Outlook to go to site and review.

When any major updates are made within the state typically Central Administration will send us the update via email & ask us to read through the update and/or complete a tutorial that runs through the updated information. As an individuaul, I make it a point to participate in at least one tutorial or training per month that will help "hone" my skills & knowledge as an enrollment advisor but also benefit the students I speak with. After this training, I plan to check the Florida Commission for Independent Education website monthly as well.

Kimberly,
Try comparing your school documents and procedures along with the rules and laws. It brings a deeper learning when you take the catalog and compare them to the regulations.

Patty Aronoff

Kiara,
Absolutely! It should be a constant process and continual renewal of knowledge.

Patty Aronoff

claudia,

Excellent! The rules can change anytime throughout the year. Statutes sill only change once a year through the legislative process.

Patty Aronoff

Paul,

We must learn the rules and regulations in order to operate compliantly. By having a training course established by your institution, you quickly see their commitment.
