Larry,
Thank you for your post. You have brought the importance of learning to the forum.
Oscar,
It's a good idea to have everyone involved so that we're all on the same page.
Most of them from the school director or cowoker.
After nearly 18 years, many of these have become second nature to me. Particularly things like Fair Consumer Practices and full disclosure. However, as I said in an earlier post, there is always something new to learn. As I read through this section it brought to light why we do a number of our procedures the way we do. I had often thought that some were redundant, but now the reasons have become much clearer to me.
Larry,
Complianceis the cornerstone of our business, protecting both the student and the school.
Andrew,
You have an excellent plan. Thank you for your post.
We do this in a few ways. I will attend the annual FAPSC conference and bring back what I have taken away to my team when I get back. Also, we hold regular in-service trainings amongst the representatives and one of the topics is always compliance and regulations. Third, we make compliance part of the certification process for new representatives.
Clearly, there are a great many things to think about as we go about our daily business of helping students get into school. As I read through this information, I could often identify areas of our operation where we have automated steps in our student management database that require us to address a number of these rules and regulations before we can continue to the next step in the process. Not only does it ensure our compliance, but it also makes certain that all of the steps are completed, much like a check list might.
Looking at websites as well as asking questions. I try and think of different scenarios and then see what the Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations instruvt to do.
As an Educational institution, we are aware of any changes and updates regarding rules and regulations by our Campus Director, to stay in compliance at all the times. We always get meetings about any change in the Florida Statues and Rules and Regulations in order to be in compliance.
As an Admissions Rep our goal is to know everything in the catalog and where to find it.
This course is a very good source of information for me, since it brings all the information at once. Usually, I go to the Commision for Independent Education web site, or I call the Florida Board of Education to obtain or confirm an accurate information. I also discuss with the Program Director.
Going to Florida Commission for Independent Education website and look for updates at lease once a month.
I have printed out the Florida Statutes and have them handy in a binder. Plus, going to the website.
I nornally would go to websites if dont no are ask my supervisor
Our Campus Director and Director of Recruitment alert us of changes and updates regarding Florida Statutes, Rules and Regulations. I am also learning more about the Florida Statutes, Rules, and Regulations by taking this on-line training and referring to the FCIE Website.
well one is from my DOR and from the wedsite for department of education
I will be checking online and through the DOE.
Our director is very involved and keeps us updated with Florida statutes and rules and regulations. We also have a consultant who keeps us informed. It is so good to know that I can check the Florida Commission for Independent Education website once month for announcements and updates. I will continue to add updates to my resource notebook.

Currently I search the news via the internet as well as through local newspapers. I am also keeping a close eye on the Department of educations website to monitor any changes in regulations that may take place.
