Krystle,
No, meetings are not required by the Commission. It is the responsibility of the school to be current on all regulations.

Irais,
Program directors have a wealth of information and they love to share their passion.

Patty Aronoff

Nick,

Start with all of the above! Keep your rules and statutes handy and make it all come together.

Patty Aronoff

Katherine,
Meetings keep us all on the same page and provide for learning opportunities.

I like to inquire with compliance what meetings and trainings are available to help me do my job better. If there is nothing going on, then I have no issue in initiating a meeting to better assist my staff and help them become more knowledgeable of their position.

I believe attending every meeting the Admissions Department has is a meeting that anyone that has any part in the admissions process should attend that including the Admissions Callers. They rules and regulations are changing and also Admission personnel schedules. We should all work as a Team therefore we should all keep up to date on the enrollment percentages and goals met by the department ....we are a team not an individual.

Are monthly meetings required? and if any rules or regulations change is the employer required to let us know?

We normally have meetings regarding any new program that we might start to offer, but I also take the time to contact each program director and sit with them and get to know more about the programs that we offer.

Thank you for your question, Patty.

As I had stated previously, I am new to the admissions position. There will be many meetings with staff and other administrators for some time while I become familiar with the admissions process.

I am looking forward to all aspects of training that will make me more proficient to my profession, the college I represent, and the prospective students that I will be serving.

What do you believe to be a good suggestion to begin my continued learning in my new profession?
And in what forms of education are they presented? Online?, Print?, Seminars?, Other?

Thank you for your review.

Nick

My school has weekly meetings, weekly trainings, monthly staff meetings and quarterly meeting as well to keep everyone up to date with enrollments, changes in programs added or replaced programs.

Charese,

There is always something to learn! Be proactive at the opportunities to share what you know and ask question on topics you are unsure.

Patty Aronoff

Carlina ,

Excellent! Be sure to ask questions and share your experiences.

Patty Aronoff

Caterina,
You are so right! Understanding policy and procedure is part of the student experience and they rely on us to know them well.

Patty Aronoff

Magdalena,

Communication is essential for many reasons. The prospective student expects us to be the experts!

Patty Aronoff

We have weekly training and coaching sessions to learn more about our job, admissions policies, regulatory requirements.

We have daily and weekly meetings both one on one and group.

We have a daily meeting regarding new implementation of strategies on campus. This could be an education ajenda, something from our financial aid department, or something from our education or career services. The more knowledge you can have, allows you to work at a higher level, and understand the policies and procedures of your institution.

since we are a global school, we get together once a year in an international location to have meetings. we also, however, have weekly communications from the marketing department and constant updates from career services. there's a lot of communication on what's happening on campus so that we are aware and can discuss the program in more detail.

Kerrie,

Excellent! The program chairs are the subject matter experts on the programs. Get to know them well!

Patty Aronoff

Kerrie,

Role playing and mock scenarios can be nerve racking! But they are learning opportunities and we can quickly say "reset!"
