Angela,
All schools must have a catalog which must be approved by the Commission. The catalog and the enrollment agreement constitute the contract between the student and the school.

Patty Aronoff

Courtney,

That is certainly great news! It also gives your school a great name for those already employed.

Patty Aronoff

I also believe in having the student do their own research however, I do send them to our placement department in order to provide them with different website to look for job oportuntiy in the field as well as income potential.

Yes, it is right, but today the statistics is hopeless to many career like constructions.

We offer one program: Massage Therapy. Because it is the only program we offer, it has allowed me to become very knowledgeable about the industry, our curriculum, and out students success stories. I have had the opportunity to sit in on classes, speak with instructors as well as read our textbooks. This allows me to relay accurate information to my prospective students.
The regulations help ensure that we are providing the most accurate information on our institution and the programs we offer. They allow the prospective students to make an educated decision on what is the best program for them. The regulations help maintain integrity in the industry of education and the growth of our schools.

I suggest that admission representatives have to know clearly the differences between the range of salaries in a field. A person who just graduated can earn less money than a person who has years of experiences in the field. It's good to provide real information to our students, not false expectations.

As an oriental medicine program we have a great deal of difficulty due to the lack of information regarding salaries. Most practitioners are solo private practice providers. There are essentially no jobs for our grads...to get. One of the issues with not being in the mainstream insurance system.

Operating practices are integral to be in compliance with our jobs. Most prospects would like to know the types of salary available to a graduate. To be honest about a question like this is to have resources to give to the student. The ability to talk with graduates who are currently in the field and to find out the ranges of salaries they can expect is a good option to give someone who is considering this field. Local publications that are within our market from a trusted source delivering information on ranges, depending on the types of environment that the graduate may choose to work in.

I would say it definalty affect the graduates students salary part. WHen students ask about yearly earning I am much careful of how I respond. I definatly tell them to do their own research on it.

well base on CIE regulation the school have to create the school catalog, if we dont follow our catalog as we can cause loss of the school license.

What is great about my school is that a high percentage of our students are already employed. In any case, it is very important to know the requirements - you never want to misrepresent the school. People are getting ready to spend a lot of money to go there - and they should have all of the necessary, and correct, information, to decide to attend.

Liusmila,
It is a best practice to give them the advantages. They need to compare and find the right choice for them.

Patty Aronoff

Kirstie,
Great advice! It is best to teach them the skills and resources that will help them throughout their job searches.

Patty Aronoff

Lorri,
All good resources, but students must keep in mind that those amounts are not guaranteed.

Patty Aronoff

Karen,
The local Workforce Board and Chamber of Commerce can be additional resources.

Patty Aronoff

Edric,
You are giving them tools for a lifetime. Employers are only willing to pay what they can afford and it will vary from market to market and every student needs to research.

Patty Aronoff

It's good to let students know the advantages of each institution to infrmarce and thus able to choose between what would be the best choice

In our institution, we also tell our prospective students to do their own research about salaries, job demand, ect. We want them to not take anything from us as a promise or guarantee for employment.

I also refer students to govt websites for career information and encourage prospective students to research on their own. I like them to speak with past and current students if possible and career services to obtain more information. Lorri Brown

I suggest that students use the Bureau of Labor Statistics for salary information. I also enourage them to do local research to find out more detailed information for this particular market.
