We do the same at my school. Students calling over the phone or by email we encourage them to come in so we go over every detail. We also go over the enrollment agreement, classes, drops, etc.

Janel,

As admissions directors we need to keep tabs of what's going on in the department. Review compliance by observations and reviewing phone calls.

Robyn,
The leadership at our campuses sets the tone. Staff will follow the actions and ethics of our leadership.

A few things can be done to determine how well the enrollment of new students is being handled; First, everyone on staff needs to be on the same page in a culture of compliance to ensure the best possible outcome for each new student. Second, staying up to date on information that is imperative in the admissions process will help provide a strong foundation for success!

As Campus President it is critical to make sure all personnel understand their role in the admissions process. Additionally, all need to recognize the points in conversations with students the information is honest, specific and compliant.

This is a great post that I completely agree with. Ethics and values speak volumes in creating a good reputation that will increase retention of students. It is through following principles of ethical practices that growth comes rather than through promotion.

Berthony ,
The catalog provide you all the information on policies and procedures for your institution. The catalogue along with The enrollment agreement constitutes a contract with the student.

LeAnn,

As leaders we must be the strong models we want our staff to follow. Following compliance is the first step.

Patty Aronoff

you can look at the school catalog and make sure you are following the steps properly

Organization and communication is key. Being an effective leader, and empowering my staff to uphold the compliance guidelines we have been taught by reminding them and modeling them myself.

Mercedes,
They are looking to us for guidance in the process. Every step ensures compliance and full disclosure.

Patty Aronoff

Mercedes,
Ethics, integrity, and honesty are the only way to conduct business. We need to be transparent and provide full disclosure.

I have to be sure that I follow the Admission process step by step, tour is very important for the prospect student, that way they can see the instructors and student in action, it is also important to answer all the questions they have with honesty, and be sure that they complete all the requiertments.

Ethic is first, been sure that as an Admission Representative I follow step by step all the admission process, and provide the prospect student with the correct answers.

Shawayne ,

We have an obligation to provide thorough information so that the student can make a solid decision. The school needs to be the right fit in order to keep the student in school.

Patty Aronoff

Yvonne,

Absolutely! We all influence the behavior and actions of others. Unethical behavior should not be tolerated at any level or by anyone.

Patty Aronoff

Shannon,

Excellent! Be sure to ask questions of the prospective student to make sure they fully understand the process and the paperwork they are signing.

Patty Aronoff

Caterina,

You have an excellent business practice and we appreciate you sharing your process on the forum. Admission Director have the responsibility of the entire department.

Patty Aronoff

I can ensure that the new students are fully aware of the registration/enrollment requirements and what the program fully entails. Hopefully this would help students make an appropriate decision. Also by ensuring all qualifications are being met prior to starting class may better determine the retention of the student.

I agree so much with you. Compliance is a hurge issue, and for any school to have compliance,it needs to be the culture of the school. I find that sometime the students who come in for information, ask to have some of the most unethical things done, telling you oh that school does it. The bottom line management must support ethics.
