We keep a binder with the up to date information provided by the commission for independent education, updates on the CIE website. And we make sure to comply with the regulations in order to pass requirements. This ensures our ability to keep everything transparent between the staff and the students.
Patty, you are absolutely right. That's why I indicated that going on the CIE site from time to time to check for any updates and most recent information is necessary.
Francis,
The binder is only worth the value of the materials inside. If the materials are out of date, then the book lost its value.
Patty Aronoff
It is important to keep a binder of the most up-to-date information from the Commission for Independent for Education regarding recruiting guidelines for admissions representatives. It is also wise to visit the CIE site from time to time to be sure that the information has not changed.
David ,
Excellent! Continue to add more resources as you discover their benefits in your daily activities. Start with an organizational chart.
Patty Aronoff
Renate,
The state school association is a great resource who provides a voice to our sector in state affairs.
Patty Aronoff
Phillip,
Excellewnt! Make sure to add the state schools association. the Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools and Colleges to your list.
Patty Aronoff
Keeping the binder up to date that was started in CM201 with updates from FAPSC, DOE and CIE and other agencies as they are published.
I fully understand the importance of keeping up-to-date with all Florida statutes and rules and regulations, and we, in
Admissions, all adhere to this principle. We attend FAPSC meetings.
We have a multi-faceted approach that includes required review of Florida law, attendance of CIE meetings, reviews of pertinent websites, mailing lists and local counsels...
andre,
Excellent! The program specialists are there to help. Ask them questions any time.
Patty Aronoff
The academy has developed a close relationship with its program specialist, who in which is licesned by the Florida Department of Education. We are informed via email of all updated requirements placed upon the academy, thus keeping up to date is top priority.
trang,
Yes, DBPR has an important role with your school as well. Keep on checking their website.
Patty Aronoff
Michael,
Electronic seems to be the way of the future. Email, webinars, etc. will keep people connected.
Patty Aronoff
Clay,
There should be no surprises. The key word is transparency.
Patty Aronoff
Having a notebook is the best way to keep up to date and checking on-line through the dbpr website
Currently our plan is to keep all updates sent to our school electronically. Any update that is sent to our school either by a State Entity (DOE, DOH, etc) is scanned and kept in a file that is accessible to everybody on staff. Staff is then informed of changes or updates as they come in.
We also keep a binder specifically for these regulations as well. We refer to it when needed when we are not sure about something or if a student has a particular concern that we have to answer with complete accuracy. We also believe that students need to know exactly what they are enrolling into and how these regulations affect them. No one can know every single regulation by heart, so having them together in an easily accessable form is imperative.
Lindsey,
It is important to read them carefully and understand them fully. It is one focus to put it in the binder, but if we have not read and understood the material, it does not have the impact.
Patty Aronoff
I will maintain an up to date binder with all relevant information. We also get updates from our school regulatory departmnet and will stay in touch with any updates on our intranet. If there are any changes there are alerts sent to us and it is important that we read all of them carefully and stay abreast of all relevant changes.
