ED 114 has made me aware of my need to allow slower students the opportunity to have more time to answer the question. Also, my teaching can be more productive if I incorporate more open questions. I've always liked Fleming's VARK to help provide guidance for teaching to meet all the learning styles in a given class. I think sometimes it is overcomplicated when in fact it is easy, and quite necessary, to do so.

Making a Positive First Statement

We have all been members of a class in which the instructor rushes in last minute and leaves immediately as th class is over. As a student this diminishes your learning experience and sets a class expectation that dedication is not valued nor rewarded in that particular class.

Planning and Prep

In regards to my class I must make sure that all the boats are fueled up,have all the necessary safety equipment on board, and hbe the mehanical pre operations checks completed before the students arrive. This requires the instructors to arrive more then one hour before the students but it has the added benefit of allowing the instructors the appropriate warm up time they need to effectivly teach the course.
