There is no question about it. A school should always be accredited. As an Admin Rep for a beauty school it is vital that we are accredited with the highest standards to give our students the best possible chance of employment post graduation. : )

It is true that licensing is required and accreditation is voluntary. But, in the practice, if the institution is not accredited, students have problems when they try to transfer credits to another institution.
