It gives us the guidelines to follow to make sure we are in compliance. As long as we follow the guidelines and we are meeting the standards it allows us to keep our licensing in the state of Florida.

I feel that I am very knowledgeable about our institution. Working closely with the other departments allows me to not only keep up with the constant changes, but also allows me to learn something new every day. When students ask questions it’s nice to be able to give them the correct information, if you do not know the answer it is also comforting to know that the other departments are there to give you the correct information to pass on to the student.

We have all the information in a three ring binder separated into sections. Once training is complete the Admissions Representative, Admissions Trainer, Director of Admissions, Assistant Director of Admissions, and Director of Student Finance all signed off to verify completion.

In my resource notebook I have placed, School Catalog, Policies and Procedures, Enrollment Agreement, Admissions Staff Training, Accreditation, as well as the Organization Chart. Having the Resource Notebook is a very valuable tool for us to have. During this course I have learned about the Florida Statutes, compliance regulations and much more.

Agents role in recruiting

In regarding to an Agents role in recruiting a prospective student in a location away from campus...Would an individual need to be registered as an agent for the school if only a presentation is taking place in an offsite location or prospective students home, with no securement of an enrollment by means of accepting an enrollment fee, deposit, etc...?

Resource Notebook

I've compiled our Student Catalog, FCIE rules/regulations, ACICS Policies/Procedures, Student Enrollment Agreement, as well as all forms students complete during the enrollment process.

STUDENT SERVICES

I THINK THAT WE NEED TO BE PREPARE IN STUDENT SERVICES , IT IS VERY IMPORTANT WHEN THE PROSPECTIVE STUDENT WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IN WHAT FIELD THEY CAN WORK, RECEVIED ORIENTATION ABOUT ACADEMY ASSISTANCE , PLACEMENT AND GRADUATION

Ready, set, go!

This module was very imformative. Along with the Admissions bible, ( Resource Notebook), and knowledge of the rules and regs, I am set to go. It doesn't matter how long a person has been in this position, someone, can always learn somthing new. Even the Reference Notebook checklist is a great tool to have. This is great! Now, let's go!

The rules do apply!

IF you call yourself an Admissions Counselor, I would hope that you know the rules and regs of that state. It is so important to stay on top of changes, which seem to happen often in education. I really like the definitions page. that should be a part of the training process for sure. There are many people coming into this position (admissions), with no full knowledge of enrolling, and the rules that apply.

Training

It is very important as an admissions officer to attend all trainings/seminars.

Keeping up to date.

It is very important keeping up to date with addmissions/financial aid on a weekly basis. Keeping notes is very important.

History of youre institution.

I think it is very important to know about the history of the school. Makes youre prospect student feel more sure when it comes to a life changing decision.

Organizing

Being organized is the key to any enrollment.

Admissions training

Admissions is such a beast in its own right. However, I do agree on the Admissions staff training. It is vital, that all person working within Admissions should go thru some sort of training. This allows everyone to be on the same accord.

Staying Current

Admissions agents take on the responsibilty of communicating to the prospective student what their institution is about and gaining the trust of that student. This is why it is extremely important that all agents are trained, know the compliance regulations, and stay current with everything that is going on within their institution and their industry as a whole. Staying in the know on these topics is easily done through your supervisor, the internet and periodicals within the field and the job market as well. Patti

Discussing Salary Potential

A good piece of advice when a prospective student is requesting information on salary potential for a career field they are looking at is having them sit down with the Graduate Placement/Career Services to receive that information. You may also refer them to the website for the Department of Labor Statistics or www.salary.com for further research. As an Admissions Representative, we are not the individuals who compile that data so be leary about what you discuss and be careful not to mislead the individual.

Advertising and Marketing

Although advertising is essential to help contribute to a school's growth it is often one area that is abused. It is not uncommon to see websites whose intent is to advertise for educational programs use the disguise of "Help Wanted" ads. Considering the state of our economy I find these particularly offensive.
