Because if you aare not prepared you are setting a bad example for your students for not being prepared for your exams, homework, etc.

We need to practice what we preach- we ask that students come to class on time and prepared with their assignments. They should expect the same organization and preparedness from the instructor. I always prepare for my class days before so I am fully prepared to teach my class. I always keep in mind that I am setting an example for my students.

Like all things in life, people tend to emulate and model themselve after successul people. By presenting yourself as being organized will hopefully show your class that your are serious about their education. Those instructors who tend to be disorganized, " Like myself at times", appear to students of being a bit apethetic, perhaps the do not care as much about their students.

I think its very important because it makes the instructor look both knowledgeable and creditable

Being un-organized will be agonizing for the students and you! There will be too much down time while you try and get your thoughts in order, students will loose focus, and This can lead to losing class control; students will jump on this and make your day a living nightmare.

Being prepared and organized prior to the start of class not only shows your students that you are interested in the class and their education, it also allows you to be mentally prepared by reviewing the days schedule as you prepare and also instills self confidence which spills over to your students attitude towards you.

I like to lead by example. I want my student to be prepared for class and if I am not, it does not set a good example. Being prepared also helps the class start on time.

That way the students know what to except from the instructor.

It is important for an instructor to organize and be prepared for every class so the students do not feel instability in the class and gain confidence in the instructor as someone who is in control of their learning process.

If you are organized then students know what to expect. When you are organized and prepared it helps the class run smoothly. The students will then respect you more. Think how you feel when a unorganized students approaches you and wants to show you an assignment, they are going through their books and notebooks looking for all the pieces of the assignment. This is a huge time waster for the student and you. Showing that you are prepared will make you a role model in showing your students to be prepared.

It gives your students something to strive for in and out of classes! If you as an instructor are organized and prepared in a personal and classroom enviroment it will help each student immensley in life!

Putting myself in the learner's place, I would make assumptions about the instructor such as: Is he really interested in this class? Does he/she know what they're doing? Do they know how tired I am from working all day and this is what I get for my money spent? Whatever the case, a poor message is going to be sent to the learner. Something was brought out in the module that I hadn't thought of before - the issue of respect. No matter what conclusion the learner arrives at, I agree that it does boil down to the respect we pay toward that individual as someone who is trying to better him/herself.

We need to show the class that as instructors we are excited on teaching the subject. Being prepared is a fine example.

Being organized is setting an example for your students. Your organization shows the students you are profesional and helps to gain their respect.

Usually if you're not prepared the students can tell you are "winging it" and you will lose their confidence in you.

This is important because it helps to make the class successful and maximize learning efficiency during the class time. Being prepared for the class, also shows respect to the students and that you care about their learning.

Being organized and prepared causes less stress on the instructor and the student. Knowing what is going to be discussed, learning objectives, etc. makes for a more focused environment and everyone is on the same page. Instructors can stay on tract with what information is given and not wander away from the main objectives. Organization also shows the student you care enough about them and what you are teaching to put some thought and time into the class.

I believe it is vital to be prepared and organized for class. Time management is also required to prepare for class. I currently work with instructors who you can’t see the bottom of their desk. I personally cannot work in that situation. Just the other day, she/he could not find her text for class….mmmm I wonder why!

Classroom management and organization is paramount when achieving success in the classroom. If you are not prepared or don't have expectations in place, the class will undoubtedly recognize this. You might loose credibilty or worse not have a handle on all students.

It is important for an instructor to organzied and prepared for each class because it is a reflection of their professionalism, it demonstates respect for the students, it provides a guideline of the expectations for the class, and gives the students a subjective comfort for high performance.
