Hi Jennifer:
Adding passion and enthusiasm to classes makes them more enjoyable. I think part of the goal is to assure we've met the student learning outcomes and course objectives. That, along with skill mastery and wisdom from the teacher that can only come from experience should provide a good starting poiunt.

The goal of educating students is to present students with information and skills, that they will be able to get a job from or turn a job into a career. Instructors goal is to provide valuable information that students can understand and can use. It would also be a goal of the instructor, for the student to enjoy what he or she is learning and enjoy the overall experience. If the student enjoys the experience they will be more likely to create a career that they are truly passionate about.
Hi Katheryn:
If we cover the course goals and learning objectinves thoroughly, add our technical expertise, and carefully guide and skill development, we should be meeting at least a major component of the students goal.
Regards, Barry
Hi Patrick:
Every course should have well written course objectives (the HOW and WHY of what they should know, and student learning outcomes (the WHAT they should know). If these are presented, taught, practiced, and applied successfully, the student will have learned the need material for that class. That, at least in part, is a component of the goal.

Hi Charles:
For me, part of the goal is to transfer the prepared curriculum, couple that with my technical expertise, and demonstrate any applicable practical or performance skills that combined make for an amalgum of skill and knowledge that contributes to some degree to successful effectiveness in the work setting.

The goal of educating students is to give them the fundamental skills to succeed in their industry. Also, help the work force with more educated employees.
For students to develop critical thinking skills.
To make them totally prepared to enter their choosen field.
I concur with Ronald and would also state that the goal of educating students is to drum it into them that you should never stop learning. It's a continuous process and with the way the world is today and how fast it changes, it's best to stay on top of things than it is trying to play catch-up.
The goal is provide experience and create excitement for the students
My goal of educating students is to use my 43 years experience to give them the information, skills, and examples that will give them insight into their chosen career path.
I made a choice to teach because I never had the time or opportunity to help correct the multitude of problems I encountered everyday in the area of production. When you are working, all of your time is spent getting the work through the workflow. I realized the only way I would be able to make a difference is to start at the beginning and pass my knowledge on to the students who are the next generation of the design industry.
Hi John:
Passion, excitement, interest, enthusiasm - these are like a siral with an upward flow that draws students into the mix.
Regards, Barry
Hi Gregory:
Not bad at all. For me, providing the essential knowledge provided in the course objectives and student learning outcomes has to be covered. If there are any skills, time for practice and deloping these needs to be given. Coupled with our expertise, the curriculum, media choices, and student commitment, the students should be prepared for the next class or the work setting (if it's a career program).

Hi Arthur:
Yes - facilitating the possession of technical information and skills that are directly applicable to a career area is one component of learning. Therory is important, as it lays the foundation, and many professions require certifications, licensing or credentialiling, and the involves a lot of the fundamental, theory portions of a topic.

I wish to take in students that are interested in a subject and make them as excited as I have been in 27 years in the field.
First,I want to let you know that I have not been involved in instruction (subbing for Sunday School being the exception)for several years. But I will start soon, with international students. So what I have to say now is somewhat theoretical or relies on rapidly dimming memories.
To me, educating students means imparting knowledge and chance to practice that they can apply in their work later; adapting what they learned as required.
Hi Trena:
We all have learned from others. Even self taught used books and manuas wriiten by others. If we can instill the passion, enthusiasm, and knowledge we have gained and transfer that to the next generation, they take that and carry it further.
Regards, Barry
I believe the goal of educating students is to help them reach their career goals and to be successful in their career and in life. The great thing about career education is we help people become something, a chef, a plumber, a carpenter, not just someone with an "education" we provide them with real time marketable skills that they use to improve society as a whole and their own lives.
Hi Melissa:
Preparing for lifelong learning is a worthy cause. Giving students the basic tools (information and skills) to get a good job is a start.
Regards, Barry
Hi Nicole:
One component for me is assuring learning abd course objectives are met; skills (if applicable) are met; and my expertise along with a willingness on the the part of the student combine to produce a qualified graduate capable of seeking and obtaining meaningful work.
