I love the way you think, I am a Cosmetology Instructor, and it is my goal to pour out all the knowledge that I have aquired, to encourage and motivate this young generation, so that they are excited about their profession and that they take the art of cosmetology to a new level. I love an educator who loves to motivate young people.
The goal of educating students is the use of content beyond the course. The course itself is meant to help students learn and synthesize knowledge that they will take with them and apply for the rest of their lives.
Hi Diane:
One component is job ready with course theory, skills (if applicable), and the expertise the instructor brings mesh into a comprehensive, productibe outcome.

The goal of educating students is to encourage them to become a better individual through the power of knowledge. Our "goal" is to share the knowledge of the subject matter we know best in hope that they take that knowledge and use it to the best of their ability.
Hi Jessica:
Workplace readiness is the goal for career students. That comes from both text and skill demonstration, along with the expertise the instructor brings.
Regards, Barry
Hi Melissa:
One component is ready with knowledge, ready with skills, ready with integrating both into the work setting.
Regards, Barry
Hi Mariela:
Relating to people, open and honest, creates a natural, genuine way of trust and sincerity, which are attitubes extremely valuable these days.

Hi Tula:
I think we are facilitators of learning; the more the student can do on their own, that will teach them memorable lessons.

I emphasize early and often the relevance of the skills the students will learn for their own lives. If students can envision using things they learn in class out in the "real world" they are much more likely to engage in the learning process.
There is a pithy saying that states: "The more you learn, the more you earn." As a cultural diversity instructor I remind my students that corporations are looking for "educated" workers with well-developed soft skills who can take on leadership and not just "drones." As we enter a global economy, all leaders will operate in a multicultural context and in order to do so, certain skills are important. The Center for Creative Leadership asked this question of small business owners, educators, professional services and public sector leaders: "What Leadership skills are most important today?" The rsponse was interpersonal relationship building over demonstrated technical skill and even organizational skills. I therefore agree that these "soft or career skills", which "make up a major portion of career success is a critical part and a major goal of educating students.
The goal of educating students is to ensure that they have the knowledge and skills to be successful in their career field. You hope that they can apply this knowledge in a variety of work settings and be open to continued learning while they are in the workplace.
I believe a key goal of educating students is assisting them to become functioning productive members of society. It entails teaching them to think, to ask questions, to become lifelong learners, and of course to be able to apply skills they acquire in class to different situations they encounter outside of the classroom setting.
I agree, I am sure my instructor before me is very proud to see that I have taken what he has tought me and am now teaching others his knowledge and some of my own. The cycle should never end
I try to educate students so that they will be productive citizens and an asset to the work force.
The goal of educating students is to prepare the students so they can go out into the work force in an office and prepare any job asked of them. My students know how to apply the classroom knowledge to prepare documents, spreadsheets, PowerPoints, and run queries and reports using access. If the students have a question they know how to find the answer.
The goal of educating students is to give students the necessary knowledge and training required for the students career path.
The goal of educating my students is for them to gain the clinical knowledge to be competent in their skills. Within that takes a lot of background and structural learning.
Barry,
My goal in educating students is teaching them not to make the same mistakes i made. I never went to school to learn my field, it was on the job training. if i can teach them the basics of our field before they go out in job market, I feel i've met my goal!
The goal of educating students is to present the material in multiple mixed manors so a cross section of the students may learn. If you constantly use only one method you will be only hitting the section of the class that learns from that style. Many styles must be utilized and assessed for effectiveness.
