Daniel,
Right! And the tools are the skills and knowledge needed for their career. I think if we can also impart the critical thinking skills, and professional demeanor needed for success these days, that will contribute to our mission to assist in their success.

Preparing and give them the tool for their suscess

Terence,
Success for most is getting a good job and making a better life for themselves anad their loved ones. We have most control over the getting a good job, but we can also influence their happiness by conveying the positive side to life; that is, being a positive role model that suggests that happiness comes from within.

I want them to be successful, so that they can achieve their goals and improve their lives.

Tracy,
Although the media has changed, it's still true that knowing where to get information, and how to think through problems are among the most valuale traits a graduate could have, and a wonderful skill to be able to impart to our students. These will help in both the workplace and in personal lives.

In todays Information Age, there is so much knowledge and information available, that I have come to the conclusion that one of the goals of educating students is to help them learn how to find the information they need and they how to effectively use and apply that knowledge into their practice. This requires educators to be familiar with the various methods available in which information is delivered.

David,
Most instructors are involved with some or all lessons pertaining to work, Besides skills and knowledge, also possessing the behaviors, attitudes and professionalism pertinent to a career area are just as impotant, as are critical thinking skills.

The goal of educating students is to give them knowledge on a specific subject. Depending on the class, the goal could be to introduce beginning concepts to the students or dissect complex or advanced subject matter. For me, seeing the students apply what they have learned is the reason I am an educator.

Spring,
Achieving the many career-oriented skills and knowledge is an assumed goal. Beyond that, getting graduates to think critically is a learned skill that will help them in both work and life. Pushing students this direction is an admirable action.

Heather,
These are wonderful goals, and worthy for any career student to strive for.

There are many goals that must be considered when thinking of educating students. The first goal that I think of is what is the students primary goal of continuing their education. It is important to understand what the students goals are so you are able to assist them in achieving their goals. Second, what are the goals of the course that you are teaching? What are the objectives?

The goal of educating students is to assist them in being successful in the carrer field of thier choice. To interest them into wanting to learn more and continue thier education. To teach others in order for education to continue and thrive.

Andrea,
Nice sentiment. I wonder if a career of experience can ever be conveyed in a few hours of instruction? Nonetheless, we are hired to instruct a set collection of skills and knowledge and so we are responsible to do the best we can to achieve thiose objectives.

The goal of educating students is to provide them with as much knowledge to have a successful career. I was trained to train those to replace you later.

I think the goal of educating students is to provide them with the basic tools, (skills, knowledge, behaviors), that they can apply and build upon in their chosen career paths, as well as in their personal lives.

Roy,
Yes, and to add to that, if we can get students to think critically, to ask questions, and to learn where to get information, they will be lifelong learners which will help them in both their work and personal home life.

Melissa,
Hopefully, that will be the result. Knowing how to ask questions and where to gety information is essential.

the goal of educating students is to provide them with the prerquisite knowledge to be successful in thier chosen profession.

Is to prepare them to be contributing memebers of society - whether they straigt into the workforce or on to college first. To know how to learn, how to get a job, keep a job, set goals and reach them.

Vickie,
As instructors, our mission is mighty, and responsibilty great. Of course we want to prepare our students to be the best, but if we can make a difference in their lives, we may help them in their personal as well as work life.
