Knowing the learning styles of your students allows the instructor to create delivery methods that reach all students.

knowing the learning styles of the students is productive for the class. the instructor can use visual aids for the students who are better at hands- on absorbtion of the material, and audible descriptions for thse who are good listeners.together the students can achieve a better understanding of how things work hand in hand.

Hi Chukwuka, Thanks for sharing a good strategy for teaching to the learning styles! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

Experience has shown me that just going through the powerpoint slides leaves the students with very little understanding of the content. When I introduced small group activities and having students do poster boards, the difference was very obvious. After the first couple of class meetings I would have figured out the learning styles of the class and those would be the content delivery methods adopted for the remainder of the course.

Hi BYGINA, Thanks for your post to the forum. I agree that using frequent short assessments allows us to stay on top of our students' progress.

I love to use short assessments for my students and pictures so they can have a better idea of whats going on.

When you know the learning styles of your students, you can adjust your instruction to meet their needs. It allows you the present the information so they will learn the material and feel successful.

As an instructor, you must know the learning styles of your students in order to know the best way to convey information. An instructor is effective if his/her students are successful in learning, understanding, and applying the information. Knowing which learning styles work best with your students will help them succeed.

If possible I need an internet learning style assessment to give my students on the first workshop. Every group is different and it have its own challenges. Will be great to identify the different learning styles of each group to be able to adapt the class to their needs.

Knowing the different learning style helps the instructor in carefully planning the methods by which he would deliver his lesson plan to his students in a way the would benefit all his student taking into consedration their learning styles.

Hi Robert, Thanks for your post to the forum. Yes. relating what they are learning to their own lives really gets students engaged! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

The instructional benefits are that even when you have a classroom full of different learning styles, you can find a way to include all so that you keep each learning style engaged on the content. As an instructor it helps you to formulate a lesson plan that is clear and received well by students. If your students feel like a course instruction is dedicated to their style of learning in a classroom full of students, they will be more open to receive the information and help their classmates in the same way.

One becomes more effective in the delivery of not only information but, understanding of that information to be applied in life through, knowing how each student learns the most effectively. for example I teach history. I use a combination of elements to connect the present and the past. If we are discussing the concept of the (Push Pull Theory) of immigration, I will ask why did your ancestors come to America? What pushed them from their prior country to America? What pulled them to America? Getting them involved using their own heritage and incorporating not only a verbal response but, a written one as well addresses those learners who are more apt to learn verbally as well as those who learn at a higher level through writing. I then will have the students find on the world maps what part of the world their families came from and what problems might geographical, made the trip harder. This allows for those learners who are more visual to respond.

Hi Neil, Good luck as you continue your teaching career. I know that you find success teaching to the learning styles!

I am new to instructing and can see the value of knowing all these styles. To be able to structure my presentation to reach each style the best possible way is my goal.

When I know the learning styles of my students I can better know how to incorporate my instructions so that my students get the best understanding of the material I am presenting. It also helps me incorporate different styles into my lessons and therefore make everything more interesting for my students and myself.

Hi Michael, Thanks for your post to the forum. Yes, often we can tell a lot about a student's learning style by simply observing them. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

It's extremely important to identify what learning styles of your students, so you as an instructor or teachers can be able to help your students in general or sometime one on one to making sure they understand your message loud & clear. As myself I always study my students as the first day and identify what kind of learning styles so I can help them to achieve their goal and have more fun so they can come to my class every day.

Hi Olga, Thanks for your post to the forum. I find that the best strategy is to strive to use a mix of delivery options in each of my classes. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.
