I began to learn about alternative ways to deliver the content. I am interested in more about this.
A module for each course is good communication between the instructor and students
I've never actually developed e-courses, but I plan to see if there is a LMS available from my facility in order to practice with the development
I learned that a teacher shuld match the learning objectives of the course module and apply to the objectives of the course.
Students who have never been in an online learning enviroment would like to see consistency inall areas of the learning prcess so they know what to expect. If it is different in each class this makes harder for the student to plan or to be prepared for the class
I learned the importance of developing a learning-objects database.
I learned that module consistently is important so that students are able to locate all of the course information and so that units of study are easy for students to access and work through.
Consistency to modules with ongoing reviews is beneficial to student learning as well as with teaching improvements.
Having a database to use for "chunk" style learning is a great time saver!
Consistency is important. The students need to know what to do and where to find information in each unit. It is also important that all units take about the same amount of time to complete.
I learned that module consistency is very important. I plan to develop a module template.
I have learned new terminology/concepts: extraneous cognitive load, modality effect. Using a preferred text size, low number of supplemental components (videos, graphs, etc) and consistent layouts is important to help with student familiarity.
These are great take aways because as an instructor I experience overload with the resources available to present the content!

I am going to start collecting a Learning Objects library that I can reference to and build it as I find quality items.
I learned that module creation must be within a consistent framework and must be tested. Learning objects are very valuable to module and site creation and save time.
Keeping a module consistent and easy to work in is essential. It should be a student friendly format with learning objects that support the content. I like the idea of having a location for all of my information to keep it together and organized.
The most important information in this lesson is being consistent when developing the modules. Keep things similar to assist in the learning process.
The consistency in what on the surface seems simple like font choice, size and color. I like the idea if creating an instant visual recognition like a red box with blue writing that always signals the same thing.. like disucssion , quiz, etc. Very useful idea I had not thouht of.
I learned of the importance of consistency in module construction and operations. It is best to strive to not let the technology get in the way of learning.
I learned that prepping the students for what is coming in the modules allows the studet more time to organize the information to their system and this organizatino saves time and effort when studying the content.
It is important to include time for revision and testing to create and verify consistency in module framework and material presentation. Never underestimate the role of an "editor" in the creative process of course development.
I learned the importance of creating a database to store content such as graphics, videos, and other learning tools. I can use this database to select content for the different courses I teach.
The reason behind consistency especially with assignments and information definetly improves the retention and recall of the students. I also find that when things are consistent the students increase their independence by knowing how to do tasks with minimal assistance.
