Barbara.
Integrity and honesty are keys to compliance.

Joseph,
Having one person to alert the others is important to making sure everyone is on the same page. Follow-up is key.

I agree, this is exspecially true with potential non-English speaking students who are looking to enroll in our English as a Second language program. Properly translating and explaining all terms and definition is extremely important.

You are correct, not being an admissions associate it is essential to disclose all pertinent information in regards to registration; disclosures on an enrollment agreement and so forth. It makes it much easier when going to the financial aid department to have the foundation understood and put into perspective.

accrediation, because most of our student's want to know after completing our program if they can enroll into another instition to gain a higher education than our 2 year.

Enrollment Agreement: is it a legal contract signed by both the applicant and a school represtntive. They are advised to read it thoroughly and to ask any questions. It covers important policies, such as refund policies and enrollment criteria.

Accreditation: I advise the student of who we are currently accredited by and what that means.

SCNS: State Course Numbering System: This system and been developed and instituted by Florida Department of Education to assure transferability of courses between institutions.

I have placed the Florida Statues from the CIE in my notebook with specific focus on Rule 6E-2.010. I've learned that there is a rigorous education program (Max Knowledge) required by the state of FL in order to become a licensed agent in the state of Florida and that a background check is to be completed.

Besides being updated due to changing regulations, My resource notebook contains our student handbook information and all information we give at our orientation for new students such as housing information, applying for health insurance while in college, where students can buy a car (especially for international students), Where students can register there car and such as a licensing center, etc. Also included would be tuition breakdown, course descriptions, rules and regulations, and policies at our college such as attendence, drug testing and alcohol policies, etc. Pretty much everything covered in this online training we have covered in trainings and staff meetings. When in doubt document everthing.

Student Agreement-The contract between student and school showing start dates & tuition costs.
Rules & Policies-A list of rules & policies a student must abide by in order to agree to attend the school.
Accreditation-The acting program that gives the student an actual degree & shows the student that the school is accredited thru the state.

Assesment: earning a place in one's desired program through testing. Committment: demonstrating the willingness to do whatever it takes to succeed. Maturity: Showing the ability to enter school with professionalism and responsibility

Enrollment- registering a student to take programs or courses at an institution when registration obligates the student to pay tuition to the institution and obligates the institution to provide instruction to the student.

Enrollment Agreement- A legally binding contract that is signed by the applicants to licensed institutions as well as authorized personnel at the institution. This contract forms the agreement to terms of enrollment and provides disclosures which inform consumers of important policies of the institution, which their signature indicates acknowledgement of.

To insure my complete understanding of the definitions outlined in the beginning, i have made a glossary of terms.

Some of the most common terms that are used during our schools Admissions process are as follows. We statrt by discussing the "Courses" that are offered at the school. These are the units or classes of study that will focus on one area for a specified amount of time. They will then talk about all the "Costs" that come wit the course of study that the student chooses. These will include but are not limited to the Tuition and fees that will be on the enrollment agreement. Then comes their enrollment agreement or the binding contract which includes the tuition, fees, credit hours, etc for a particular course of study between the School and the prospective student. There are many other terms that are used but these are the ones that are most often asked about and used within the department.

So far i Have added the various terms and definitions which were on the first module, a copy of the sschool catalog and enrollment agreement. I have also decided to add a list of important contacts within my school in the admissions, education and marketing departments.

So far I have together the school Catalog, a copy of all of our disclosures and a copy of our enrollment agreement.

Enrollment Agreement - A legally binding contract that is signed by a pplicants to licensed insitutions as well as by authorized personnel at the institution.

Accreditation - Accrediting agencies provide volunteer membership for institutions and acts as "gatekeepers" for federal funding program participation if they are approved by the US Department of Education

We do as well. Motivation is the key to student success.

Our institution uses many definitions during the admissions process. They include official start date, official end date, entrance grade level, pertinent contact information such as address, all phone numbers, and next of kin contact information in case the student cannot be reached. We also ask that the student has confirmed by signature that they have read and understand all of the rules and regulations that apply.

What I have discovered about my institution is the fact that it is very consistent across the board with all the programs offered. I was under the impression that they would be more changes but that was not the case.

The resource notebook must contain a summary of the information that is included in the catalog. This will help facilitate the information given to the students and prospects.
