We cover a wealth of information to a prospective student to ensure they understand the admissions and acceptance process and that they feel they are a natural fit for our program.
As academic dean, it is a good idea to be aware of the tools that the admissions department is using. The Admissions Resource Notebook can be a segment of the Academic Dean's binder.
At my institution two of the most often used terms would be accreditation and program. Because of the many career based schools in our geographic region, many students want to know about our accreditation status and the transferability of course credits. We also reference the term program frequently, because some programs have different requirements for completion. The discussion regarding the program is also necessary to align the needs and desires of the students with the best educational program that will help them achieve their ultimate goal.
