I have placed the Terms and Definitions, the Florida Statutes, Fair Consumer Practices, an Organizational Chart and other items that I feel are pertinent to being an effective Enrollment Specialist. I am happy to have a lot of information in one place that I can easily refer and add to.

Some of the terms we use are enrolled and financially cleared

Some terms and definitions commonly used during the admissions process at my institution are listed below.

Enrollment agreement is a "legally binding contract that is signed by applicants to licensed institutions as well as by authorized personnel at the institution. This contract forms the agreement to terms of enrollment and provides disclosures which inform consumers of important policies of the institution, which their signature indicates acknowledgement of".

Institution is "any college, university, or postsecondary career institution under the jurisdiction of the Commission as provided in Chapter 1005, F.S.".

Program is "a prescribed group of courses, taken in the proper sequence to attain mastery of a body of knowledge or set of skills, and leading to a certificate, diploma, or degree".

Scholarship is "a grant in aid to a student. The offer of a grant in aid to an enrolled student to offset partial or complete costs or a course, program, certificate, or degree.

I use these terms on a regular basis. The enrollment agreements are discussed and signed with the prospective student at the time of the application. Instituition describes the type of facility that I work for. I speak with prospective students throughout the interview about the programs that we offer. Scholarships which is the last term that I listed is one that I mention briefly when talking about tuition and ways to fund the students education.
