Lea,
Keep on learning! There are many ways to learn more about your institution by getting involved while you're on campus. You're off to a great start!
Patty Aronoff
I agreed. Product Knowledge is the key.
It is very important to know as much as possible about your institution and the job descriptions of everyone on staff.(ex. Organization chart). They have valuable information about the institution that you can include in your discussions with prospective students.
I agreed. We used a power point presentation.
Since I just started on Monday, I'd give myself a 5 out of 10.
After being in this business for 12 yrs, knowing everything about your institution (past and present)projects confidence in the prospective student that they are well informed in every aspect of their education and your institution.
I am new to this institution, so I am still learning about all the programs. I have been able to meet all of the educators as well as sit in on an orientation. I plan on sitting in on a clinic as well. Meeting the Director of Education and learning about the standards and plans for the students to succeed has definetely enhanced my ability to assure a new student that we have the tools and plans to help them succeed.
Tami,
That is a wonderful surprise! Shows you have been diligent in obtaining your knowledge and you continuously improve upon that knowledge.
Patty Aronoff
Jennifer,
That is awesome that you were a student there! You are able to bring your own personal experience as a student to your interviews in admissions.
Patty Aronoff

The commission rules are there to protect the students and the schools in Florida. No matter which institution you work at, we all follow the same rules.
Patty Aronoff

An organizational chart provides you a picture of the departments and staff. It Shows the inner workings of the departments and how we all have reporting.

Jessica ,
It is always better to ask a question then provide misleading information. It shows assurance to the student that all departments work together in the best interest of their education.
Patty Aronoff

That is very exciting for the student. They are able to get the education they need and get started in their career.
Patty Aronoff

The more you know about your institution, the more you are able to explain the student experience there. It will help you in finding the right fit for the student and the program and your school.
