Walter,
Excellent advice in directing the students to do their own research.

The programs that are offered at my school are, AMCB, Criminal Justice (A.S.,B.S.), Business Management(A.S.,B.S.), Computer Networking and Security Health Information Technologies (A.S.,B.S.). The way that I have been learning about the jobs that the students train for has been looking on our website, and our catalog. I have also been going to the www.bls.gov website which can give students an idea of what type of saleries can be obtained through these programs, I direct the students to the site so that they research salary info on their own, because I don't make promises to them about saleries.

You have to know the different program that your school offers. It's a must.

we offer programs that are hands on and we all know learning how to do something by using their hands is better than using a book. Some people learn better by using their hands on than read something over and over again because they probably still do not learn how to do it.

That is a great idea! that could be very helpful.

A few that we offer include: Health Information Administration, Health Information Technology, and Advanced Medical Coding and Billing. We utilize the Bureau of Labor Statistics website when talking with students about careers and salaries.

Our school offers degrees in the HI technology field and one resourse I use for research is a website offered by an accrediting body in that field of study. It is specific to the field and since it is from the accrediting body, I can rely on the information presented within the site.

We offer programs in Allied Health and Trade. One way to learn the programs is by sitting in the classes and meeting with the instructors.

at my school its business administration tech, automotive service tech, a/c heating and appliances and eletronic service tech. I learn by my career service dept

Our school offers programs in Medical Assisting and Ultrasound. Each career requires or recommends state or national testing that help them become credentialed in the respective field. I have learned a lot about each credentialing entity and make sure my students are also aware of their requirements prior to enrolling in the program.

My college offers Health Information, Business, Medical Coding & Billing, and Computer training and Criminal Justice. I have learned about the courses by speaking to various subject matter experts and asking a lot of questions.

At our school we offer an MD program.

we offer programs for makeup artistry and skin care.

We offer one program that prepares a student for the aviation industry. By speaking with my education director I have been given a lot of information regarding the flow and purpose of thhe program.

We offer a MD Program.

We offer programs in automotive, air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, & appliances, medical assisting, personal fitness training, and electronic systems. I feel the best way to learn about jobs in each of the fields is not only through employers, but to speak with each of the instructors as well.

Trisha,
Cosmetology is not just cutting hair anymore. There is so much more that goes into cosmetology. Much to learn!

Sirena,
Your school is in a very exciting career field. Sounds like a great experience.

Sandra,
I would also suggest sitting in on classes to get a real feel of the educational side. Also speaking with career services about their placements.

Jessica,
