In order to learn more about the jobs it is important to read the catalogs and do additional research regarding the job market.

Our programs require an internship or a capstone. Receiving information about the types of assignments or tasks that are required assist in explaining the exceptations for new students. Also in talking with students about their experiences can be shared with incoming students.

The 5 major programs that are offered at this school are: IT, CJ, ET, Health Sciences and Drafting and designs. I can learn about all the jobs by speaking to each of the 5 charis that we have for each program.

Brandeis,
This is where keeping up-to-date and staying involved in the industry is so important. It gives us credibility.

Most of the programs offered at our campus are health care related. Our instructors are a vaulable resourse to admissions because they have worked in the field and can explain the difficulty of the program as well as real world obstacles. I think it is also important to research the industry on our own to keep up to date with current events and changes. I think that course descriptions are great but without the real world knowledge of the industry it is hard to paint an accurate picture of what the student will experience.

Lauren,
Food always brings people together. Great idea!

We have mostly healthcare programs on ground at our campus and we have numerous online programs that we offer. We have continual training in our dept and we also have "Lunch and Learns" with the dept chairs.

We offer Healthcare related programs as well such as CNA, HHA, PCT and MA. All of which are diploma programs. I would agree with you that an excellent way to find out about each of those careers is to visit the Externship sites to get a feel as to what the jobs entail and of course we have detailed descriptions in our catalog.

Connie,
Externships are a very important part of the student's education. It is a time to put into practice everything they have learned.

I'm involved with the clinical externship sites at a very personal level, and I love keeping tabs on what's going on at the sites, so that I can keep my students well updated on things such as procedures, forms, processes, laws, etc.

Stephanie,
Having strong ties to the community is phenomenal.

We offer both IT and Healthcare related training.

We leverage our connections within the Business community to be able to have visibility into hiring opportunities for our graduates. In a ddition, we work with community development agencies, non-profits, faith based organizations, as well as the Community Colleges and full Universities to stay connected to the community trends that impact hiring.

We have product knowledge meetings. The program director of each program will meet with us and keep us up to date about the current training and what they will be able to do when they graduate.

Teresa,
Tap into your career services department. They have many resources to share.

Isa,
Sounds exciting1 Try sitting in on some of the classes to get a real feel of what goes on in a classroom.

I think is great for students to have the opportunity to go to different places and do a practice. Hands on experience will open their eyes to reality and give them the chance to know if something similar to what they have experienced is what they want to do for a long part of their lives or even the rest of their lives.

We offer: Criminal Justice, School of Electronics Engeneering, Nursing, Information technology, School of Business, Drafting and Design, School of Health Sciences and one of the ways I have learned about the jobs students train for is taking the time to sit with each program chair and talk about how the program prepare students for the real world.

Our school offers a variety of programs within the fields of: healthcare, IT, business & education. I think it is important to fully understand all of the various programs and the professions students can potentially gain after completing their program. I plan to research the professions associated with all of our programs so I have a better understanding of what our students are training for.

Jason,
It takes a whole school to graduatea student. We need to work togetherfrom day one.

Our school offers certificate and diploma programs in the medical field. I feel that one of the best ways for admissions staff to learn about what students are training for is to be involved in their overall education: everything from enrollment to job placement. Sitting in on classes, consulting with instructors and student services and meeting with potential employers in the community is also of great importance. Understanding of the school catalog and the schools policy and procedures are also a must.
