Difficult question. I would consider that I posses already good knowledge but there is no day passing by that I am not searching, asking and researching for more information.
I am very knowledgeable about my institution since I helped write many of our policies and procedures. Additionally, I worked on the enrollment agreement and catalog, so I know what our financial aid policies, refund policies, and program are. I am less knowledgeable about the instructors - I hope to fix that by observing them teach.

I am relatively new to my institution, but working in my position has allowed me to learn a little bit about each department and what everyone does. Our campus has a small team of faculty and staff, which allows me to get to know each employee and what they do here. I've learned that our institution began in 1994 and has expanded to have two satellite campuses in another state. Our admissions team meets one-on-one with EVERY student before they start here. Our Career Services team meets with EVERY student to place them at an externship site at the end of their coursework. Our Program Directors know our students by name and they are there to guide them academically. Our Campus Manager deals with student issues and retention to make sure each issue is addressed on an individual basis. So, what do I know about my institution? We are hands on, we know our students, and we are better able to help them succeed because of this.
Candice,
Feel free to add any additional information to assist you in your position.
Brian,
It is about trust, honesty and integrity. We cannot mislead the students in any way.
James,
Professionalism is the number one desired quality of employees today. It is our responsibility to continue to make that part of their educational experience in order to be prepared for the workforce.
Greg,
Wonderful words of wisdom. You can speak from your own experience.
I have only been in Admissions for three months. I am very new to the field and I learn something new every single day. I have read through my institution catalog beginning to end and I keep a copy on my desk and in my resource notebook. I know my institutions programs, admissions qualifications, cost of attendence,Policy on transfer credits, leave of absence, attendence policy and who to tell the student to speak with about getting employed in their desired field.
I feel that I know a great deal about my institution however there is a great deal that I am learning about the responsibility that we are given as recruiters and how involved we are in sharing the load of the presentation. How the student views us as professionals is very important and we must always know our business at all tmes and be sure to give accurate information at all times. This all takes effort and in order to be successful that effort must be given.
I feel very confident about my knowledge of my institution. My yeasr as an admissions professional have given me the opportunity to work for several excellent institutions and one of my strengths is learning the institution quickly and accuarately.
I am very pleased to see the emphasis placed on this area of professionalism. It is absolutely vital that we know our institutions and all the programs we offer to properly inform prospective students.
I have been employed by my institution for two years. Prior to being employed by the institution I attended and graduated from the same institution. So, you can say that I have been on both sides of the coin. I can now see that as an employee that all of my expectations were confirmed. The institution provided me the opportunities of a quality education from a highly accredited forum. As a regionallly accredited institution my education is valued in multiple circles in the corporate world. I have discovered that the quality of student service did not stop at me and have witnessed many phenonenal stories that continue to enhance the lives of students each day. My institution has a strong hold on meeting every compliance policy with honor. Today I am more proud than yesterday to have been a student and now employed by this institution.
Karen,
If you detect a weakness in your program, you need to bring thee information to the executive staff at the school. We must always be honest with our students.
Ilena,
You have strong institutional knowledge. Be sure to carry it forward with the rest of the staff.
I have been working for our institution since its foundation. I participated in all of our licensing process with the CIE. So, I am very knowledgeable in all of its areas.
If we detect any kind of weakness in our programs...what do you think that is better way to focus this item, if one of the students is asking exactly about this?
